Tim has NEEDED Lucy from literally her 1st day of being his.boot. I'm sorry, Nolan would be 2nd, BUT no other TO has NEEDED their Boot as much as Tim. AND no other boot could've helped Tim. Tim would've been dead the 1st day, if Jackson was paired with him. I was re-watching parts of the 1st season & 2nd. Tim and Lucy were called to be back up, that 1st day but arrived early on the scene & Tim thought reasonably that they would drive down the back alley & wait. BUT they ended up being ambushed because the gang were there. AND Tim got shot pretty fast. AND Lucy was able to pull Tim out of harms way while shooting with no one else there yet, and able to radio for what what was happening and w/ Tim being shot. And then their shop caught fire & again she had to pull him away even more. Then you add in how quickly Isabelle came into their Rookie TO relationship, it was literally the 3rs episode where he sees Isabelle & Lucy doesn't know what's going on. AND she's mad b/c he had her fight this tough guy & arrest him. I think he was a drug dealer. But suddenly he sees Isabelle & she's so far gone, that she doesn't recognize her own husband. And she is pleading for him to not be arrested!!! Finally he is able to get her to c that it is him. And she just wants his cash on him & takes off. He's in shock & tells Lucy to just let the other guy go. Rightfully SO, she's mad b/c she doesn't have a clue what just happened. And then he tells her that she was his wife who he hasn't seen in a year. Lucy says, she won't say anything. AND he basically ordered her not too which isn't like Tim but with Isabelle, Tim the tough TO needed Lucy just as much!!!! He's obviously hurting, but it comes out as anger, and says, "Your damn right you won't." If it wasn't for Lucy, Tim would've taken that that kilo of heroine out of her apartment but Lucy confronted him. BUT there were times when Lucy would tell him off. I can't remember if it was the same episode of 1at seeing Isabelle BUT he put them BOTH in jeopardy b/c he literally went looking for a fight!!! AND could've gotten them killed & he tells her to not put it into a report. And that's why finally tells him off after he gets a call that she's ODed. That maybe when he had the fight. B/c they leave & go so he go to where she is, but she doesn't want her help and punches the wall & Lucy sees him. But he's definitely spiraling. It wasn't until he had them drive to her place to give her narcan. That she gets out and tells him off!!!! And convinces him to let her go into her apartment and give it to her. And she learns that Isabelle was a cop & worked in the Narcotics division & under cover. She softens when she goes back & describes her apartment but says she was a cop?! And that's when Tim shares that he had thought for months that she was having an affair and that it wasn't until she was really doing drugs hardcore that he realized what the issue is & it's the 1st time, he thanks her. It was this interesting dynamic. AND in season 2, after Caleb, she's not sure if she's ready to date & is us wondering about the fireman. He tells her first that he's not going to give her any romantic advice. But she doesn't know it's because he's still blaming himself for her going out with him. Lol so she's talking on her phone but only to herself. And Tim figures it out & calls her next to him on a stakeout. AND it was that exchange where suddenly he says, "Why do you even care what I think?!?!" She's bewildered by this. And he says, "The last time I gave you romantic advice, I pushed you towards Caleb and you almost died." His facial expressions like usual say it all when he's being vulnerable instead of this tough guy. And she can see & it's obvious how much he was still blaming himself. And she tells him, that is ridiculous. There was no reason to suspect anything. And tells him that it wasn't his fault, and that it wasn't her fault either. That's this latest episode, I hated how the dynamics are so corny with Nolan & his new Rookie. I was okay until that episode. He doesn't seem like a TO half of the time & she definitely isn't being trained & treated like another boot. There's no way that Chen, Nolan or Jackson would be asking to sleep at their TO's house b/c they couldn't sleep. Nolan doesn't need a corny boot. He's corny himself already with Bailey. It comes across cheesy & just cheapened that whole episode.

I agree with you. I think this incident is the moment Tim started looking at Lucy differently. The song is "Don't Let Me Down" by The Chainsmokers.

Newcomer to the show but honestly from the beginning I kinda thought there was some chemistry there and the episode of her kidnapping was really the one that kinda clinched it. I mean only someone in love would hold her like he did when they found her. He did that and I was like yep they gonna end up together later. 😊 #chenford
