My point is that people change and we do not know what Lucy is going to do. I have not seen her act. I presume that she is very good at it and that acting could easily take her to the silver screen which could lead in several directions. This is not being mimed look at throat movements 2. There are a couple of places there has been a slight pitch correction 3. The is no sign of flat or contorted notes, this is the way Lucy is singing it, he has never listen to Lucy and thinks her voice is amazing with such great control.

I think the point is that if you heard Lucy sing this live you would not be able to distinguish it from this recording. The throat movements and the very audible breathing when the son requires a quick gulp of air, shoot down everything that this troll said. The thing that irritates me the most is what the troll says is actually an attach on Lucy's character. Everything that I know about Lucy Thomas tells me (1) that she is in control of the process and (2) that she has too much musical integrity to mime anything and (3) she has demonstrated time after time that she does not need to use gimmicks. Thanks for sharing what your friend said. I have heard similar things from other sound engineers. No singer is perfect, though Lucy is about as close as I hope to see this side of heaven, and the occasional minor tweak in post-productions is just fine. I appreciate your comments John.
@graveseeker16 күн бұрын
@@MikeBush-dg2dp That is nonsense. Lucy may well have sung this live but it is no knock on an artist if they lip sync to a studio recording. You are listening to a post-production video which is almost certainly pitch-corrected by ham-handed sound engineers and that changes the color, the intimacy of the performance. It's almost automatic in the industry and like it or not Lucy is under contract so she is not in control. Nobody has said anything negative about Lucy. She is as close to perfection as you can get. She does not need to be pitch-corrected...but her videos are.

Especially when a song seems to threaten to be very successful. At the same time, names are mentioned that you should listen to and don't use Autotune, no of course not!!! The discussion of autotune always surrounds productions of top talent because their skills are masked and even degraded by the process. Autotune introduces electronic noise into vocal tracks and is especially damaging to vibrato. There is a place for autotune but applying it to legends like Elvis or Karen Carpenter is just wrong. In this case, the World outside of the concert hall never gets to hear Lucy, et. al. - and sometimes the concert goers don't get to truly hear her either. As to listening preference, AI is coming so you can enjoy that since you won't be able to tell the difference anyway.

Billie Eilish never uses pitch correction. For some reason, Lucy’s producers needlessly pitch correct every one of her studio recordings, forcing her to mime in videos like this. No wonder she sounds better live, no pitch correction to remove the emotional content from her beautiful voice. She really needs to find a new record company, one that will give her final artistic approval, so they can’t pitch correct her vocals before the music is released. Audio engineers who think they know more than the actual artists who are recording the songs, are absolutely destroying the music industry by putting mediocre talent on the same level as the best talent in the world. They bring up the level of the mediocre while, at the same time, lower the level of the best by removing the emotion of their singing with pitch correction. It’s no wonder Elvis is still so popular. Besides his charisma and looks, his voice is impossible to pitch correct because his vibrato covers so many semitones. If you change his vibrato, it just won’t be the iconic voice of the king.
@kerrythomas622017 күн бұрын
Um, Zack, she’s miming to a pitch corrected studio recording. Her wavelengths are flat on her held single notes, air passing over the vocal cords don’t produce flat waves as they vibrate, musical instruments do, however. People always say Lucy sounds better live, that’s because they’re listening to her true voice, with the emotion not removed because of the pitch correction. Now the only danger is even a live performance can be pitch corrected on the spot with autotune, which can be turned on and off at the discretion of the sound engineer, even during a song. The music industry has really bastardized itself. Billie Eilish, Angelina Jordan, Alma Deutscher in Classical Music, and a few others are far and few between the last holdouts of this horrible trend in the music industry. Fil on Wings of Pegasus is doing everything he can to expose and educate people on pitch correction and autotune. Most people just don’t understand that it takes mediocre talent and elevates it to the level of the greatest artists around, and when they pitch correct re-releases of Artists greatest hits, as they did with Celine Dion, they completely trashed her vocals by removing all the emotional content in the process of making her sound “perfect”. Those audio engineers should be banned from the industry for what they did to her voice. Fil did a whole show on her re-released pitch corrected album, and was it an eye opener! About the only way to avoid reacting to an artist who isn’t being pitch corrected or autotuned is to try to find a live mike to camera video, although the audio quality might not be as good, at least you know you’re listening to the artist’s true voice. See if you can find some of those to react to from Lucy’s concerts, they’re usually cellphone recordings taken by fans and have pretty good audio. Better than than this pitc correction nonsense!

Not sure why I should believe your claims. How do you know this? How do you know that for instance Angelina Jordan and the others you mentioned don't do the same thing? Are you a sound expert? What are your qualifications? I've heard Lucy in person. Once just her on stage during a sound check with just a couple of other people in the hall. The song she sang at that instance was just as I had heard on the studio version. I see you popping up on many of Lucy's reaction videos always making the same claims. Don't you have anything better to do? I've also seen you on Angelina's fan site. I suspect that you bear a grudge against Lucy as she is in your mind some kind of rival to Angelina. Angelina is a wonderful talent and so is Lucy. There is no need for you to constantly play the troll.
@kerrythomas622017 күн бұрын
@@geraldmcniece1429 You’re making my point, read what I said. She sounds better live because you’re not listening to pitch corrected studio recordings. They pitch correct 99% of all the artists. I mentioned Billie Eilish, I never said a word about Angelina Jordan. Most of the so called live videos of any artists you see on KZbin are miming to studio pitch corrected recordings. It’s not that difficult to figure out which ones are really singing live, just listen and see if you can hear them taking breaths while singing, if not they’re miming. Most of these so called singers and bands today can’t perform up to the standards set by their pitch corrected studio recordings, so when they perform live they either mime or use autotune. I saw Lainey Wilson on the Tonight Show a few weeks ago and she actually mimed her hit song for some reason, with her whole band there, it was so obvious! About a week later Gwen Stefani was on the show and she and her band sang her new song live. How could you tell? You could hear her taking breaths while singing. You never heard Lainey take one breath during her song. This stuff isn’t rocket science, and I’m sure there was a reason they couldn’t perform live, it just seemed kinda odd at the time. By the way, I have absolutely nothing against Lucy Thomas, we even have the same last name, but I absolutely detest pitch correction and autotune because of the deleterious effect it’s having on the music industry. What they’re doing in the music industry by pitch correcting all the singers is creating parity for everyone, so the extremely talented have no real advantage over the mediocre, and anyone who’s willing to degrade themselves by being half naked and dancing wildly on stage can become a superstar in today’s world. Of course, their star will die out quickly, but at least it had a chance to shine, whereas those who refuse to compromise their principles may never even get their chance at stardom. But then again, some of the best singers I’ve ever heard in my life had absolutely no interest in becoming a professional musician or going into show business.
