Absolutely beautiful machine , owned a velar for the last seven years, and looking to upgrade to the new sport or even full size Range Rover, love the comments on here from the haters and the wannabe owners, the junk comments, and the most unreliable comments , it’s the biggest load of crap I’ve ever heard , older range rovers yes , maybe but the modern ones are second to none , I’ve had a velar for seven years and never had one single issue , serviced by Land Rover technicians when due , drove properly and not like pimped up chav machine they are an epic piece of kit , I’ve took ours top of Scotland to the bottom of Cornwall , and all over Ireland , on and off road , honestly best car we’ve ever owned .

Totally agree. If you can't afford to buy and maintain it then any car will cause problems, but you know what they say about empty vessels! It's always going to be a risk buying a second hand RR as you never can tell how well it has been treated, looked after and whether it has bee serviced properly or in someone's back garden. We've owned new RRs since 1989 without any real issues and the only comment I would make is that they are no longer what the original Classic RRs set out to do. The modern era RRs are beautifully comfortable long distance cruisers but hopeless in multi-storey car parks and narrow streets - the external size and lack of visibility despite the cameras and sensors. Once out of this gridlocked country we have travelled over 600 miles in a day from the top to bottom of Spain, effortlessly. That's what they are now built to do and they do it very well. However, I do hope that the Jaguar branding fiasco isn't going to infect the LR brand or else they can soon fall from grace.

Lucy, avoiding short trip means combining a trip for example to buy newspaper from news agent, milk from local corner shop and fuel from nearest petrol station instead of three separate trips. Not only does it improve fuel economy it is also best for your engine. Short trips results inadequate oil lubrication of the engine resulting higher wear and tear of the engine cylinder rings and heads. It also results unburnt fuel to mix with engine oil which reduces engine oil viscosity. In respect of Range Rover Sport vs Range Rover Defender, the later by design has utilitarian interior therefor feels airy. In contrast Range Rover Sport is designed for high end luxury market hence it caconos the occupants with leather trims from all angles. Just like high end watch Range Rover Sport is designed for discerning SUV owners. That is why it is the official car for the British Royal family. It is not designed to appeal mass market SUV owners. Thanks.

Hi Lucy, That Range Rover would certainly look out of place in the green, wet, and muddy countryside, it would look much more at home cruising around the streets of Knightsbridge.

I was just thinking it doesn’t look that spacious when you were sat in the driving seat in the segment for the size of the car on th3 outside. You then said it when you were walking around the outside. I sat in a last shape sport and thought it could be snug if I was any bigger, but you looked like you were much the same in this generation;. Your choice of the word cocooned later sums it up perfectly. I loved cars like the first four discovery series for the reason they were airy - and you could spec a disco & really nicely. I think someone else mentioned box was in eco mode - I quite like the idea of a car this size being a little lazy in some ways but I’d want it to be an option, not the default setting. Crikey, you’d be brave leasing one of these - I’d run a mile. You might have the warranty but you’d want it blowing 80 - in fact, you’d need it! Don’t know how reliable a defender would be. At least with your current Range Rover, it’s 10% of the price, and got huge miles already, so more forgivable having some tech issues. The bonging when you get to certain speeds - all new cars are required by law to have speed limiters. So they all become bong feats.

A friend of mine received a brand new Range Rover Sport PHEV as a company car on a lease deal. Three days later it would not start. JLR recovered it and after a week decided it could not be repaired. He was then provided with a replacement PHEV, which developed an identical fault. He is now looking at his options for a company car and it will not be a JLR product.

Quite a nice car but if you're going to have a Range Rover, go for the big daddy full size Range Rover. You need to get into an L460, hopefully with one of the big engines. The sport does have a bit of an image problem, both the L320 and L494 and that L461 in black on black on black is far too drug dealer spec.

@LucyOnCars16 күн бұрын
I went through the pros and cons in the video and it’s really not the car for me! So I just like to put my opinion in the title 👍
@elgrupo206915 күн бұрын
@@LucyOnCars ok, fully understood :-) so, from my point of view testing a car a title should be more neutral, so that the viewer can makes its own opinion of that and it is not being pushed in any direction. But anyway, you want to know some more pros: from of what I have seen you just drove the car on public roads and hasn't tested or checked all the options the car has: all LandRover have nice hold function in general, an ondemand hold, a rollout and tipout function. Automatic Parkbrake release, emergency exit function, emergency brake apply. Unfortunately you haven't told anything about all the TerrainMode, Sand, Mud and Ruts, GGS, RockCrawl. ATPC and Hill Decent Control....and a couple of more you haven't mentioned at all. If you need more power, have a look for a D350. Anyway, I agree, the car is a very heavy one and as well I don't like the glossy center console and these plastic touch things in the steering wheel. The car is not spacious but there is enough legroom....take the L460 🤗 ...I think I have a more technical view on the car, about design it is always about like that, if don't like a car because of design it will take a long time and you have to see it time by time...then later you will like it. Design takes its time....have a nice weekend 🙂
