Just got a 2016 690 Duke R. Looking at the manual, this seems similar to your instruction. Except, I've got multiple oil filters. Heard the KTMs eat up oil, and that it should be changed more regularly than service intervals. Great video, thanks.

This is optional, but basically all KTM Service workers do this: When you put the new oil filter in, put littlebit of that engine oil inside of that filter, sort of fill it up to 30%-50%, then put it in :)

Thank you for such a great video on this! Very, very helpful and well put together. However just a friendly heads up, KTM reccomends to use Motorex oil, not Motul. Is there a reason you prefer Motul? Also, what song is this in the video?? Love it!
@luczyn4 жыл бұрын
I know what KTM recommends, I have the same manual as you do. Recommending a specific company doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the oil - they simply are business partners. Choose your own prefered oil after you check it's parameters, pricing and availability.

@luczyn9 жыл бұрын
Lewa!

LucZyn ja też właśnie z moim dealerm jestem dogadany na wydech LeoVince + mapa i montaż :) jaki wydech kolego montujesz?
@luczyn9 жыл бұрын

@Meeteepao9 жыл бұрын
Very similar procedure with a Honda CG125 minus a few additional filters.
@EPICJJONAS9 жыл бұрын
Hi! I just watched your video on how to change your oils in Ktm duke 125. I did the thing before watching your video. When doing the test drive I noticed that oil was leaking in the oil filter cap. I tighted the screws too much and one screw snapped. Apperantly you had the same expereince before ? So I just wanted to know that how did you get the screw out of the holder?
@luczyn9 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes I broke one of the screws from the filter cover and I wasn't even turning it hard. The stock ones are very fragile. It was very bad because the rest of the screw was still inside the thread, I thought I was going to need to drill this thing. I was very lucky I managed to slowly remove it using a very sharp pointy tool (stick it in the screw and turn) and very slim pliers. After that I just went to the nearest hardware store and bought a handful of brand new screws and put everything back in it's place. Very important thing to do in your case is to check if you have damaged the rubber seal on the filter cover. If you did you will need a new one because it can leak from now on even with 2 screws in.
@FFA_PT9 жыл бұрын
Joonas Yli-Huhtala It happened to me the same thing... The KTM store does not have that screw in stock and they take 2 weeks to arive. What should i do, bought one pair in another shop or wait and bought in KTM ? And when you were taking the rest of the screw inside the thread, it was easy to come out ? Unfortunately i already put the new oil, if i lean the bike to the other side, with the help of a friend, the oil doesn't come out right ?
@luczyn9 жыл бұрын
ride in redline It's a standard screw that you can buy in any hardware store for cheap - you do not need to buy any "special" screw from ktm. Wait two weeks for a screw? Do I even have to answer that? :D Mine was deep but came out pretty easy. How did you put new oil in if you didn't insert the filter and put the cover?
@FFA_PT9 жыл бұрын
LucZyn Thank's for the tips :) I did everything like you did but before i put the spoiler i want to give some grip to everything, and that was stupid because everything was tight, so i just screw up, now i have a problem to solve and only monday the bike shop is open :/ The good thing is that even with the screw party and after walking a while there's no spill oil ;) (sorry for my english, i am portuguese)

@luczyn9 жыл бұрын
+André Canoso Consult the bike's manual if you don't know the basic stuff. It will help you immensly. Oil must be more or less the halfway. If it's too low you can add fresh oil anytime.
