When my daughter was born, I had laryngitis. It was the QUIETEST birth that the hospital staff had every had!!! Lollll. (Yes, it hurt to talk initially, when the infection set in. But after the infection and pain had cleared up, there was still no sound to be made by my vocal cords, other than a whisper... which they frown upon, because whispers actually stress out the vocal cords more than *trying* to talk normal.)
