That blue metallic color is stellar, with the background the car just looks great. The contrast of the PCCP’s really make the entire package stand out!

I've had mine for 5 years since new, and you're gonna love it. This is my eighth Porsche, and even including a previously owned 993 turbo and a 997 GT3, it's my favorite to drive. The only thing that would make me sell it would be the RS model, which I've been on a wait list for a year if & when it comes.

Those are some cool Porsches you have owned. This is my second Porsche, the first one was a 996 Boxster I picked up from a friend that needed to be fixed. It am super excited to drive that GT4 and I have taken a few friends for drives and they are always impressed. I wonder how the RS model would be different.

Just saw one on the road (Los Angeles, 405). I didn't get a good picture it was in heavy traffic and was being followed by the new Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo (both with Proto-plates on). I would trade my GT4 for one in a heart beat (with a boat load of cash of course).

Great video! You answered one major question and that was seat comfortability especially on long drives. If I can grab one next year, I’m worried about 10+ hour trips, with stops of course

Seats are great. The car is way more comfortable than I would have thought. You are going to want to by the bolster protector and make sure you don't wear anything on your belt.

Hi how reliable are these compared to a Nissan gtr, being a boxer engine will it require a engine rebuild around 100,000kms like subaru, thanks
@DriversTherapy Жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for watching my video. To be honest, I’ve never heard of a 3.8 Porsche engine needing to be rebuilt at 100,000 kms. Plenty of 911s out there with hundreds of thousands of miles. Porsche will always be a better build than a GTR. Reason why Porsche is a high-end brand.

Hey nice video, any problems with the car during your ownership. I Just purchased a 2016 with 12k miles and I am thinking about the extended warranty. It is not Porsches as the manufacturers is already expired. I think third party extended warranties are a waste of money but I do not know if the car is that reliable. Thanks

What are your thoughts on the reported strut tower failures on the GT4?
@DriversTherapy Жыл бұрын
It freaks me out but I’ve been good so far. I hear it can happen if you hit something really car or go off track. I don’t track the car even though that is what it is made for. I think it’s a rare occurrence and the car that happens to that I read about had a major event happen so it’s hard to say.

Great video. How reliable has it been for you so far? Is insurance significantly higher than other cars you've owned?
@DriversTherapy2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you! It is an amazing car. No lie. I just drove it today and it puts a smile on my face every time. On the 981, the clutch is heavy and you have to get use to it but after that, the car is amazing. It sounds great and handles great. The only small issues I have is cleaning the interior, so many parts and it takes so much time but that is small thing. Insurance is maybe 40 bucks more than our Hyundai.

Hi, thank you for the kind words. I would make sure to ask for the DME report and look under the car for sure. Also, make sure the spark plug service was done it at those miles. Dealership will mark up cars so make sure you are buying smart. Without PCCBs and carbon seats, the car will be worth way less. The seats make the car and they are awesome so I would not settle unless you are getting a crazy good deal. Let me know if you have any more questions, you can send me a link of car @ david@driverstherapy.com

The carbon sport seats are like an old pair of leather gloves. They are tight to get in, but once you are in. It well, fits like a glove. PCCB are the only way to go, if you can't afford to replace them or service them. Go buy a Ford Mustang.

@sunny87842 жыл бұрын
Not ALL GT4 981s had recalls. This video isnt exactly accurate. If you ever owned a GT3, GT4, which had steel brakes, you will know they are more than efficient for the TRACK..not just the street, but the track, which this guy in the video has yet to track his GT4. The steel brakes last a very very long time, they are sized effectively for track performance. i have driven both, and i will tell you that you ae throwing your money away with carbon/ceramic brakes for the GT4..its a sub 3K lb sports car, the diameter of the steel brakes are more than sufficient and stops on a dime.

The ceramics are not worth it, $8,000 extra and unless you track the steel ones are just fine.
@DriversTherapy3 жыл бұрын
Coming from standard steel brakes in most of my cars, the ceramics are a really cool experience. The braking is on a whole other level compared to steel brakes. As far as cost vs value goes, I think that depends on intended use of the car and frankly how much 8K has an impact on your personal finances. No regrets with my ceramics here but I also think having steel brakes would be fine based on how I drive the car. Thank you for watching the video.
