Ludovico Einaudi performs an original piece "Elegy for the Arctic", on the Arctic Ocean to call for its protection, on June 17th, 2016
With a grand piano on a floating platform in front of a glacier, Einaudi played an original piece composed for the cause
The acclaimed composer has turned into music the voices of the eight million people that asks for Arctic protection
With this action, Greenpeace is urging the OSPAR Commission not to miss the opportunity to protect international Arctic waters under its mandate at this week's meeting in Tenerife
Through his music, acclaimed Italian composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi has added his voice to those of eight million people from across the world demanding protection for the Arctic.
Einaudi performed one of his own compositions on a floating platform in the middle of the Ocean, against the backdrop of the Wahlenbergbreen glacier (in Svalbard, Norway).
Travelling on board Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise on the eve of a significant event for the future of the Arctic: this week's meeting of the OSPAR Commission, which could secure the first protected area in Arctic international waters.

The scene of the glacier collapsing during the performance shocked me. The performance will also raise awareness for everyone who watches the video. It was a performance that provided an opportunity to think more deeply about the seriousness of global warming. I'm glad that this video is known to many people around the world.

Dear Ludovico Einaudi. I just have to tell you that I absolutly love your music. It is very heart melting, and you are honestly my most favorite composer. I know that people dislike you because your songs are easy, but that is the most beautiful part. Playing piano is more than just technique. You need to put in emotion, and that is what you do. I want to learn all of your songs if I can get down playing songs hands together. Your songs either make me tear up or cry, because they are so beautiful. I really respect you for who you are as a person. You make my life worth living. Thank you for everything that you do for me and for the rest of the world♥♥♥

It's not about complexity NOR feelings, cmon dude. If it was like that the greatest composer ever would be the pop singer with the largest number of views. You define yourself a minimalist. I wonder how many FEELZ you feel when you listen to "come out" by steve reich, or "in c" by Riley. Einaudi is not minimalist, he's just a pop pianist.

Coraggioso, generoso, hai fatto la cosa più pericolosa per un pianista, le tue mani al freddo, esposte al ghiaccio, il tuo accordo finale incompiuto come la natura che ti ha ascoltato e risposto! It's not a simple matter of 'this is the biggest cause'. It's complex and we'll need to change our way of life in multiple ways. The foodindustrie is a big part of the problem and so is overpopulation. It's such a big problem that there are different groups focussing on different things to get to the same goal together. It is strange to say green peace are a bunch of hypocrites because they don't focus on everything. I don't think they would be as effective as they are if they did that. They are doing what they can and we should support them for that. This is a beautiful way of drawing attention to the problem, so thank you green peace and Ludovico Einaudi for creating this.

@@bb0018 Stop believing the hysterical Greta. She is a NWO puppet. Plenty of scientists are not on the payroll or waiting for grants that depend on lying with Thunberg & Co. They will tell you that climate change is natural, been happening for millennia. Yes the Chinese and Indians need to stop polluting as much as they do but the rest of us have done our bit. That it is humans who say crap like you that give others a reason to not care cause someone said they don't have to it's not that big of a deal.. First wether it is or isn't, doesn't mean we should hate people like greta.. What is wrong with trying to get more people do not throw rubbish on the street or in the sea. What is wrong with wanting people to care more about where they live.. Anyway. They also all confirm that the threat is real, its happening faster than it should naturally. And we basically started it. Human industrial revolution kick started global warming. Which is creating climate change. Melting of ice caps way faster than normal. Sea levels rising, acidity levels in the sea and soils especially soils around human populated areas. Biodiversity dying which causes a chain reaction. We xan only predict possible future out comes and of course. Real scientists should ALWAYS predict the very worst possible outcome because then we will be prepared for anything.. Yes some of this is absolutely about saving the human race.. Selfish in a lot of ways I'm sure but we shouldn't allow our children and childrens children to suffer because we thought "nah it's probably not even gonna be that bad.." @@Nukaria , you have done what every typical leftist moronic student does, twist it quite a bit. I was only talking about GLOBAL WARMING which your lot have sneakily changed to 'climate change', lmao. Fat Al Gore, your patron saint until saint Greta took his place, used to pretend that it was about global warming. When that fallacy started to become more apparent, your lot began to use a phrase that would encompass every change in climate, even the fucking natural ones. How stupid can you be, Nukaria? I never said I had anything against stopping morons like Greta and her pals throwing and leaving rubbish around (they filled their Tesla car with crap in Canada, leaving others to clear up after them, but this is their way and yours). Greta the foolish puppet needs to go to China right now. Fifteen years ago, their pollution levels were well above agreed standards. Now they have quadrupled their air pollution levels. Wuhan went live with 5G tech on October 31st 2019 AND had those deadly air pollution levels. 5G is UNTESTED on humans, except for when it is used as a military grade weapon to disperse crowds. It is microwave frequency, and causes skin to burn, so it is very effective for dispersing crowds when governments don't want people out protesting, etc. So the poor people of China were already compromised, healthwise, when this coronavirus hit them. Of course, it could be a manufactured virus, begun in Wuhan, who knows? But Greta really ought to be all brave and shouty in China AT the CHINESE COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT for their criminal pollution levels that endanger their own people, land and nature. Even Jeremy Corbyn's brother, a PROFESSIONAL SCIENTIST, says that the climate change morons are really just going to achieve a transfer of wealth from the poorest to the richest people. Via carbon taxes. Please wake up, dopey, ffs. Have a listen to Naomi Seibt, 19, much calmer, more logical and informed than hysterical, not very well, Greta.

The Italian composer Ludovico Einodi seems busy contemplating the dew drops on the petals of a flower or observing the stars and the movement of clouds over a mountain, or this is at least what the atmosphere of some of his songs suggests. Enode, says one critic, creates music reminiscent of Thomas Kinkade's paintings: a fantasy far removed from reality and unrelated to the way we live our lives. But other critics say that the beauty of Enodie's music lies in it and also in the fact that it is detached from reality and does not reflect the problems of life. In one of the videos on KZbin, which has more than three million viewers, Enode is shown playing the piano in the snow in Antarctica. The music he performs is titled "An Elegy for Antarctica", and it was commissioned by Greenpeace, and the purpose of the filming in that location is to draw global attention to the problem of global warming. Describing the experience, Einaudi says: It was very cold, and although I was wearing several layers of clothes in addition to a life jacket, during filming I had to stop playing every few minutes to warm my hands. "I enjoyed playing there, even though the freezing weather wasn't ideal," he says. The piano keys were very cold. But it's great to be out there on your own while the snow is falling around you and the glaciers are melting near you. It was like playing a melody for heaven." As for whether he considers his music a bridge to a new type of classical music, Einody says: The idea of a bridge or crossing borders is interesting in the arts. Stravinsky overstepped the bounds, he embraced Russian folk music. Mozart worked in a theater and wrote songs for a company almost like a circus. And in that company he wrote The Magic Flute. He adds: My music comes from my musical background. When I write Find Myself, I draw on my memories, my experiences, my life, and I have to feel that way. I don't think of breaking down barriers, but somehow after I make a piece, I can analyze it and get to know things and talk about something that comes from inside me." Einaudi is sixty-two years old, and he is one of the most popular musicians in the world today. He has more followers on Spotify than Mozart and Beethoven. His music can be described as minimalism, as well as modernity and transcendence. But he does not like to rate his music. "The classifications are rather restrictive. The genres of music, the colors they evoke differ from person to person. The same is true of Beethoven and Mozart. They express two completely different directions of music. And if you ask me today whether my music is minimalism, classical or contemporary, I would say yes. Or no, but that in the end doesn't explain my work." Einaudi's father, whose name is Giulio, was the owner of a famous publishing house in Italy and was an integral part of the Italian left circles, and he had a relationship with writers such as Italo Calvino and Primo Levi. His grandfather, Luigi Einaudi, was president of Italy after World War II. Inodi's album "The Elements" was the best-selling music chart in several countries of the world. It was the result of long hours spent by the musician in the libraries of Italy, during which he read Greek and Kandinsky philosophy. He also read about paintings by Paul Klee and Gustav Klimt and about Euclid's geometry and the problem of sound and color. The Elements is the author's attempt to find balanced lines between what appears to be a confused mixture of images, thoughts and feelings, and then to search for a common thread that connects all things in this world so that they share, harmonize and interact with each other. "I was trying to identify new boundaries between what I knew and a world I knew and always tried to explore more, such as creation stories, geometry theories, wild grass growing on a meadow, and the various forms of nature." The Elements album takes its inspiration from the elements of nature, where each piece begins with a simple movement or motif to evoke a journey through disparate thoughts and feelings. The author combines all the elements of nature, science, engineering and music together to come up with one concept. The plays evoke some sadness at times, but there are tracks full of optimism. Einode chose poetic and suggestive titles for her, such as Night, Drop, Four Dimensions, Windswept, Elements, and The Mountain. Explaining the reason why young people are attracted to his music despite its classic nature, says Inodi: It may be because I included in my works the same feelings of pleasure, loss, desire and frustration that you can find in most popular songs. This is music that communicates more with people's feelings these days than classical music. Then don't forget the contemplative value of my music with which young people can chime in.

The synchronisity between the piano and the falling pattern, is the Earth dying out, and yelling with all its last strength for help. Is sad, depressing and I know I am not the only one that feels it dying out right in the depths of their souls. Respect to all who feel it, and learn to enjoy the littlest nature left. Respect to those passionate to nurture and care for all Earths inhabitants, not only the humans species. Respect those that understand that WE all are part of this planet, no matter shape, form, colour EVEN species. Respect also for those disciplined minded, not to point fingers at those who don't understand, but instead set themselves as an example in hopes others will see it too. But most importantly, respect to those that understand how important is nature for our existance for any life form on this planet. I love you guys.
