I would like to comment about the sound first and foremost the drummer who ever it may be is really is a victim of the sound engineer a good exam is the worlds greatest drummer buddy rich would insist on his sound technicians to get that perfect level of precision percussion and another comment musicians seem to over play drowning out the drumming

Why is when I go to see bands, the drummer never sounds this good. Not just amateur bands but the professionals too. I’m not just referring to technique, I’m referring to the TONE !!!

i think at least two reasons: Firstly, few drummers can keep their drums tuned, and still fewer can tune them in the first place. Secondly, they do not play in a way that's sympathetic to the drums themselves - by which I mean, they clobber them. Not all drums sound best when hit relatively hard. Some do - in fact some sound best of all given a proper hiding (like Pearl), but a lot don't. There's a sweet spot - and many players have no ear for that, or else just want to be louder than the guitarist - and so a battle ensues.

@@Unfunny_Username_389 Great reply and all extremely valid points. After seeing Reni of the Stone Roses on their comeback tour it puzzled me to hear his, for the most part terrible drum sound. Earlier live recordings and rehearsals highlighted a great sound, so what went wrong ? He most certainly wasn’t the only one I noticed this with. After watching drum demonstration videos such as the one above, it only emphasises the quality and sound that drum tones should be. Kind Regards !
