As someone who hated baseball as a kid/teen with a dad that hated it too. Baseball is the sport that you fall in love with in your early to mid 20s. Like imagine coming home from work, just turning on the game and listen to it in the background while you do laundry/cook/clean whatever and by the time you’re done with your chores you sit down with your dinner and boom it’s the middle of the 7th and you get to watch the last 30 mins of a game! It’s perfect, and there’s so many damn games it becomes a nearly 9month habit. You get your friends into convince them to ditch work for a random day game in the middle May you have couple drinks at the ballpark. It’s a great sport.

Wish the MLB would do more to educate potential fans. There really is nothing like a hot dog, a beer, and some people to talk to at a baseball game. Last game I went to I caught a BP home run, and that is one of my greatest treasures I have. I've been to about 10 games and never got close. Been a lifelong fan though, played through high school. Never been a big fan of Ludwig, but it's cool to hear, maybe it convinced some people to be fans.

Speaking as someone who has recently gotten more interested due to Ohtani and the Dodgers, I didn't think that the sport was bad but just too complicated to just pick up on compared to any other sport (also we have no baseball culture where I'm from, so it's almost a nonexistent entity in my head besides seeing it occasionally on tv or in the movies). One thing I always did love were the uniforms though 😂 But yeah this year has been so wild and that Dodgers vs Yankees final was something out of a movie and I'm completely in love now! Let's go, Dodgers! 💙

In my country you can never hear about baseball, but look at me, because one day in december 2023 a man named Shohei Ohtani popped out on my fyp with his contract and made me a baseball addict. The only bad thing about it is that I'm the only one that knows about it here lol so I watch live games by myself and celebrate by myself and fight myself when we lose. Also the earliest games can be at 1 am. And I do watch almost every game.Thank you Shohei

I hold the belief that a sport is only as interesting as you are invested in it. A player or story/legacy or team you deeply want to win instantly makes everything about the sport 10x more interesting and fun to watch. Probably why in the US soccer isn't popular; there's no relative talent in the US and there's no one to root for, so no one (relatively) actually finds watching soccer fun. Every sport has TV viewership and fans for a reason, you just have to be in the right place at the right time to find that reason

Baseball is something that requires a lot of knowledge to understand. That's why you see so many people who don't understand just how hard it is to hit a baseball off elite pitching. It doesn't surprise me that Ludwig, a guy with the hottest takes ive ever heard, didn't like baseball. At least he can kind of enjoy it now. Having a father growing up would have helped if he was any kind of decent dad. My dad only gave a fuck about baseball and football. It's crazy because baseball for me isn't about athleticism and we all know it's not the most athletic sport, but it's a sport that requires so much thought process and hand eye coordination. It's nothing like hockey. Hockey to me is something I thought was fake until I was into my 20s. I never met someone who was a fan of hockey but now I am a fan of hockey and I think they are probably number 1/2 most athletic sports out there.

Dodger fan here, don’t get too cocky bro. We’ve suffered many many many heartbreaks. Specially 2021-2023. Either way man welcome to dodger nation. It’s gonna be a rollercoaster. FYI BB means base on balls, just means a walk. But on a scorecard it’s marked as a BB. ER means earned run. A pitcher can give up a run and it’s considered unearned. Say for example a batter swings and the bat hits the catcher’s glove. That batter is awarded 1st base due to catcher’s interference. If later in the inning that batter scores then the run is considered unearned because it wasn’t the pitchers fault and it won’t count against the pitcher’s stats. And there more examples of unearned runs but way too many to list.
