He was a great teacher, soloist, member of the Vienna Philharmonic and Opera Orchestra, masterclass mentor and entertainer. May he solo often with a heavenly philharmonic and/or with an angelic accompanist.

Maybe up till that time, but more recently there have been better performances, most notably Mikyung Sung (both live and on her album).
