Aman landed some great punches in this fight. Outclassed his opponent in both chess and boxing. The ref did a great job with the early stoppage, and even though Trent was upset, he was clearly staggered. Even if it wasn't a perfect stoppage, refs will always err on the side of caution for amateur fights in order to avoid unnecessary damage or injury. Very well done 👏

@@gp2776 it's not deleted and I see it, I definitely agree that super gms are a different breed, but gms is the path between both, I'd say if going for an offensive either loss either mate game, run of the mill GM would beat an IM 75/25 if you add draws a IM might be able to squeeze it and it would be 45/30/25 probably even higher in favor of the gms. GMs are still much stronger, I definitely agree that in this format you lose points depending on your performance at the boxing so the line is more vivid, but without it, GMs have the very clear upper hand

Yeah, IMO people complaining about the TKO call aren't clear enough on what this exact part shows. When someone falls like that with their arms just kinda outstretched & their face blank, that's essentially a split-second knockout, plausibly enough to show concussion signs when examined later. The ref stopped the fight because of the CUMULATIVE impact of the later hard strikes on top of this already serious stun.

@@RinatRocks Re-watch it - when Lawrence is walking back to the ropes/talking to the ref his legs are wobbling. Dude had the equilibrium knocked out of him and was already halfway unconscious at that point. The only caveat is there was so little time left in the round, he might have been able to play it safe until the bell ran out and then use the chess time to recover more than a typical boxing break would allow. But if the ref didn't separate them at that point, there's no recovering your lost equilibrium while you're getting hit - dude 100% woulda got knocked unconscious with a couple more shots to his head and he wasn't able to properly defend himself.

@@tycenreckker8328 If he had stumbled first, and then fell down afterwards, I would have still agreed...this way it happened the other way round... Could be seen as he was getting warmed up... At least could have waited for a proper punch.... After all both guys practiced for months for this...
@IlluviumGaming

@@RinatRocks Lawrence wasn't even defending himself in that last flurry, and couldn't even walk. If the ref didn't stop it, he definitely would have been knocked out (since he wasn't even defending himself.) If you're saying he should have had a standing 8, he was, but the purpose of a standing 8 isn't to give them 8 seconds to recover, it's to give the ref time to determine if it's safe for them to continue. He quickly evaluated it wasn't since he couldn't stand properly and struggled to turn to him. Maybe he should have given Trent a couple more seconds to see if he was ok, but it was definitely not unfair. Trent misunderstood what a standing 8 is.

Actually, she probably could have won if they actually ran with the standard rule of stopping the clock during a stoppage, you know, hince the name. They haven't been doing this throughout the whole event, which makes no sense and is completely unfair.
@IlluviumGaming
@IlluviumGaming Жыл бұрын
@@titlepolice No, stoppage's do not actually stop the time. It stops the bout for the ref to evaluate if it is safe to continue. That being said, Andrea still should have won since the ref started the 3rd standing 8 of the round. Instead of a standing 8, it should have been the match called, but the ref made a mistake. I don't know why you think the clock is stopped, it's not even stopped if it's a mandatory eight count (ie the person being knocked down.) Stop making shit up.
@titlepolice

@@IlluviumGaming I was wrong about the professional part, but in amateur boxing they stop the clock to make it fair for the other fighter (the one not getting a count) since they don't have the skills required to finish off their opponent in a shorter amount of time.
