Dragon was definitely aware of luffys fruit. Because if he didnt he might not have struck the podium with lightning, but he knew that luffys body has the properties of rubber so knew it was safe to strike it with lightning

Let’s put it this way. Garp and Luffy all had the potential to become too tier Haki users. Thus, we can also assume that Dragon is a top tier Haki user. Dragon definitely has conquerors Haki. He also has a Devil Fruit that is at least capable of summoning lightning bolts. This puts him solidly in Yonko territory.

@@JJ-fw7cy most likely. The Monkey family are just built different. Even greater than the Gol family. I mean, let's break this down. Garp, Sengoku, Newgate, Shiki and Roger were on the same level of power, roughly. Maybe Roger was a bit stronger than the rest, but I think they all had the same level of power and anyone could possibly beat the other. However, the difference in all of this, is that Garp has only his fists. Newgate had both devil fruit and a supreme blade. Roger had a supreme blade. And Shiki and Sengoku had devil fruits. All had haki, and possibly haoshoku, but garp only worked on haki alone (unless he had some gauntlet or something that was on the same level as supreme blades though that seems unlikely). So imagine if garp had a devil fruit or a blade as well, he'd probably top everyone. Luffy too, is a master of all haki forms, unlocking both the most advanced skills in all of them so far.....he was always strong without devil fruit, and now his awakening is just broken. So given all that, I'd say dragon is probably the actual strongest....with all forms of haki, and maybe he also has a devil fruit, maybe being stronger than garp and thus even stronger than what Roger was.

In that conversation when he assumed Ace was also Dragons son, he thought "The government dont want to fight both Whitebeard and Dragon at the same time" Also when they arrived near the gate of justice of marineford he said "Now we are here i wonder if yours and aces father will show up" "I wouldn't think that dragon would let them kill his own son" So ivankov was saying it calmly and really expecting dragon to show up to save ace against full marine army+ admirals+ warlords. This proves that he can take on the strongest just like whitebeard did and that he's atleast yonko level. I think he will be weaker than whitebeard, his commanders speak a lot for him. Ivankov, while hilarious, wasn’t that strong, maybe a little stronger than Kuma tops but he was struggling against the likes of Magellan and really just had to run. Sabo is another good example, he fought Fujitora and pretty easilly handled Burgess but being the second in command of basically a world power makes me think that he should be closer to Akainu level or even maybe able to swap hands with at least a yonko.

Wind controls the weather and could even let it start rain and maybe even force a lightning by updrafts and/or downdrafts of cold or warm wind… so I think the wind wind fruit sounds plausible but still there are more types of dragons in Japanese Literature so it’s pretty plausible that he has another dragon fruit just like kaido (btw kaido was able to control the wind to a certain degree too) but has kind of specialised in Wind based attacks

I know a lot of people theorize Dragon has some type of wind devil fruit. I was thinking since Kaido has the Fish fish fruit: Azure Dragon. It’s not completely out the realm of possibility the white tiger (Byakko) fruit exists. A mythical tiger from the same mythology as the azure dragon. They were rivals if I’m not mistaken. I feel like the biggest issue is people overhyping current yonkos. A large portion of the community seems to believe kaido is the strongest there is and ever was including both the old and current era. but if thats the case then no one will ever be a challenge for luffy, and no one will be any stronger, it means we've already peaked. Kaido does have the best feats sure, but when it comes to a story, portrayal and narrative is far more important. I still have current yonkos under the legends in their prime, with dragon potentially being up there, and blackbeard leading up to surpassing them. Admirals a little below yonkos of course and around equal with the elderly legends. Mihawk maybe between yonkos and admirals with the assumption that shanks did get stronger since he became a yonko a while after losing an arm.

@@Im2christ Akainu is the only one I'd hard disagree with. The assumption of him being stronger stems from him being a fleet admiral despite his 10 day fight with kuzan. If akainu is stronger then kuzan would also be as they're dead even. I still think all the admirals are pretty relative in strength. We've seen akainu's strength and feats. Punk hazard was split 50/50 down the middle so it doesn't seem like he got a powerboost during the fight. I'm still convinced he's just admiral level like the rest of them. What I think happened is that akainu probably said something or used some underhanded tactic that caught kuzan off guard, took his leg, then emerged victorious.

Ya gotta research Chinese & japanese mythology a bit more. Y'all always completely ignore the 4 dragon kings (black, white, red, azure) and the yellow dragon king. Japan's equivalent are the 4 guardians (same color scheme but dragon, phoenix, tortoise, tiger, kirin instead). We know Oda isn't going the guardian route because the Phoenix fruit is a blue Phoenix, which means Kaido's fruit is one of 4 or 5 identical devil fruits that turn you into a dragon king hence Kaido's fish fish fruit model: AZURE DRAGON. So there should also be a model, black dragon, white dragon, red/vermilion dragon, and possibly a yellow dragon. So if Monkey D. Dragon has a devil fruit like Kaido's what do you think it is? Obvious is obvious.

I'm really looking forward to the Monkey D. reunion. I think their different points of view on the world will be an interesting way to dive deeper into these characters (specially Garp and Dragon) and why Oda made them the way they are. There are obvious contradictions as Garp is aware of what the WG really is, but doesn't act on it except by refusing the Admiral job and not putting his strenght at the use of the Celestial Dragons (and maybe the SWORD division which we know nothing about yet) ; Dragon actually decided to not step down and did something about it by creating the Revolutionary army ; And Luffy… Well it's Luffy. Dude just want to be the most free man in the world 🤷🏻 If this reunion properly happens : I could see an argument coming alive between the 3 where they state their own vision of what the world should be (but it'd still funny as you could see them falling asleep right in the middle of it or some other things like that) ; as Dragon and Garp would fight each other on who's right like they probably did countless times… Luffy would serve as a involuntary mediator between the two (maybe even by taking them both down thanks to his, by then, other-wordly strenght, just like Garp used to do with Kids Luffy and Ace with the fist of love 😅), bringing them all 3 together, down to the same goal : take down the WG and CD. You could also see it happen during battle, where Garp has been forced into defending the CD against the Mugiwara and their allies during the final war. By having him face Dragon and Luffy (maybe not in a proper fight but maybe by standing in their way to save Sabo or something), Oda could end his character arc by letting him be convinced by his son and grandson to finally stand up against the WG and CD, showing his evolution from letting Ace die at the hands of Akainu, to letting Dragon and Luffy go and save Sabo and so, becoming a part of the Alliance that'll free the world from hundreds of years of oppression.

We know that his fruit can manipulate lightning by making Luffy be able to throw them, but I think that he didn't just throw them, he also summoned them and the same way it was summoned on Loguetown even though he wasn't awakened yet because the will of his devil fruit did it itself

When Kaido's power was mentioned, Oda went on to name the Devil Fruit that he snacked on, and it definitely suits him. According to Oda, the Devil Fruit is called the Fish-Fish Fruit and it is a Mythical Model to be specific. But thgan looking at his page its Seiryu type so what is up with that. Dragon is more than likely stronger than the sea emperor's. The guy is way too mysterious and he is the son of garp and father of Luffy. The guy must be op considering that garp was a beast in his prime and he didn't even have a devil fruit and only relied on his haki. Dragon has a devil fruit and probably has haki levels on the level of prime garp who was arguably stronger than all the sea emperor's. There's also theories going around that his devil fruit might be a mythical zoan fruit which would make his power levels even more ridiculously high if his haki levels is on the levels of prime garp or higher. We might see him finally use his abilities in the last arc of the series. Oda must be saving it for the last arc in the next couple years because dragon is probably too op which is why we haven't seen him fight yet. We only saw a glimpse of his devil fruit abilities when he used lightning to free Luffy from execution and caused a harsh wind to sweep through that city. That properties of his devil fruit is leading people into believing that his devil fruit might be the mythical devil fruit of the wind/sky god.

Unrelated to his power, but I'm really glad Dragon wasn't the typical "Evil father of the Main Protagonist" archetype. At first he was kinda presented that way, especially due to how absent he was in Luffy's life. But from what we've seen of him he's a chill guy. And since he's the leader of the Revolutionary Army, we know that he's absent because he's extremely dedicated to improving the livelyhoods of One Piece citizens. Who knows though, maybe he'll turn out to actually be a dick, but for now I'm glad Oda avoided going with such an easy route for Dragon's character.

We know this guy is powerful just because of how akainu reacted when he found out Luffy was his son. He completely ignored ace and went for Luffy when he found out Luffy was dragons son. He knows what a threat dragon is which is why he wanted to end Luffy knowing how much potential he might have being dragons son.

The wind wind fruit itself is OP imo. He can literally beat anyone without touching but using wind. Wind can literally do anything, from carrying things like water (including sea water), rocks, meteors (like fujitora does), to causing storms and even earthquake. This is why I think no one should ever have this fruit includng Dragon, since the awaken wind wind fruit can literally wipe the entire human race on the surface of the earth.

My theory is dragon has the Horse Horse Fruit: Model Kirin. They are dragon horses that have some control over weather why being able to summon lightning, run on wind, and conjure firestorms. They also have connection to the birth of Supreme Kings. He could have the Fish Fish Fruit: Model Ryujin who is the dragon god of Japanese myth who has control over weather, and is the kami who represents freedom of the new dawn.

I wanted to comment and say I don’t think Dragon is Garp’s son. If you read back, I don’t believe he ever claims to be. I have heard theories that Dragon may be Xebec’s son and that Luffy could be the issue of Dragon and Garp’s daughter. Just wanted to bring this to your attention in case you had not heard.

I have a theory, what if dragon was on rogers crew when they reached laff tale. As a result of rogers death dragon formed the revolutionary army and had luffy. Because the time hasn't been right the revolutionary army have been responding to direct threats only, freeing slaves of the system when possible. Keeping a low profile keeps the commanders from getting high bounties. Now that luffy (dragon knew his son would likely be nika as he timed it right) is awakening it is time for the army to act in order to help freedom be resurrected in the world. Dragon having been to laff tale would have known everything he needed too in order to pull off such a complex plan. I think after rogers execution Dragon went out and sought luffy's mom to bring about the child that would fulfill the prophecy. When he got word that luffy ate a devil fruit he knew he had succeeded, just had to make sure luffy got to awaken his fruit. Touching on the fruits, accepting they have their own will (which i believe they do), the devil fruits are submitting to luffy while still ensuring he grows. I have also noticed df users join luffy quicker than non users. Getting back to df users and df will, I believe that the dfs want the world government to change so they can be free as well. While df users want to stop luffy the df themselves do not, but instead want him to become king of the pirates and free the world, not just the people but the entire world.

I think dragon have mythical zoan Thunder Bird devil fruit. Thunder bird is the mythical creature like Phoenix. Thunder bird can create wind /storm, Thunder, and rain etc. Whenever dragon appear in series. We see storm or wind, Some time thunder and rain. Like in logtown.

as we got to know about luffys new final move which is the bajrang gun, let me just give u an insight of what does it mean, in Indian mythology Lord Hanuman ( who is a monkey god ) is also called Bajrang Bali, now Lord Hanuman is also called as Pavan Putra, which translates to Son of Wind, to give you people more context Lord Hanuman is the son of Wind God in Indian Mythology which further solidify what can be dragons abilities in one piece
