Anyone else get a little teary eyed when they watch this scene and think about how much they'd been through before they started in the new world. I just started reading the manga this summer and caught up then started watching the arks on the anime and the scenes with Rayleigh makes me happy that Luffy is on the course to inherit Roger's legacy and mirroring his dream. :')

I've been reading one piece since I was a kid for nearly 20 years now, and Luffy is like an old friend to me who I just can't help but root for. I remember when the Grand Line was just a legend and actually finding One Piece and Luffy become the pirate king seemed like this far off impossible dream. Now it's really within his grasp. When Luffy becomes the pirate king I'll honestly cry. And it's not just an achievement in a fictional story, but the achievement of an incredible dedicated artist, and maybe the most epic story ever told. On that day Luffy becomes the pirate king, Eiichiro Oda will also become the king of the mangaka.

What if we had this crazy asspull plot twist? Luffy is actually Roger's son. Garp lied as a last defense against the Marines. Dragon is in on it too. That's why Rayleigh sees so much of Roger in Luffy. It's also why Luffy has the Conqueror's haki. It's also why Luffy can hear the voice of all things just like Roger. Luffy has the same personality as Roger. Luffy also has Roger's old strawhat, which is apparently holding a huge ass secret. Maybe Shanks caught on too.

I mean...Ace has Conquerors Haki too...and he pretty much showed it when they were still young, so when he was 10 years old. And what would you have to say about Roger and Rouge? Rouge has freckles, so does Ace. Luffy by no means whatsoever looks anything like Roger, and tbh he looks nothing like Dragon too but in the very least Ace was raised since he was born by Dadan, so I'm sure that that would have changed his personality or way of thinking quite a bit. And you should consider the fact that we know next to nothing about Ace himself if you really think about it, all Oda really shows us before he kills off Ace is that: Ace hates Roger (Cause Roger has been confirmed to be his biological father), Ace is narcoleptic, Ace is strong, Ace is polite, Ace was taken under the wing of Whitebeard, his backstory etc. Oda doesn't really give him much screen time, so while I may not have much evidence, I really think that your theory is very unfounded. For all we know Luffy is the reincarnation of Roger or something like that. You know? Like the other theory of Roger eating a Devil Fruit?
