Lufia 2 has to gotta be top 5 best RPG from the Golden Era (90s) I mean this boss battle theme was definitely giving me a [Battle Cry] because i felt like I was *in* that battle; fighting for my life. No lie. 1. Chrono Trigger 2. Final Fantasy 6 3. Lufia 2 4. Super Mario RPG 5 . Earthbound Shoutout to Breath of Fire series 👌

Why didn't they make a sequel to this with 3D graphics like FF7 remakes graphics did? Lufia had one of the best storyline's and music track in the whole world.

The Lufia series deserved a far better fate than it received. Lufia 2, in particular, coming out so late in the SNES lifespan, benefited from that by essentially being a culmination of all the best aspects of the entire 16-bit generation of RPGs leading up to it. That said though, it's not my favorite SNES RPG, but I've nevertheless always felt like it existed as a culmination of all the great SNES RPGs that came before it. The developers learning from everything great that all the competition did, and wrapping that up into a single package. In short, it's the epitome of what you should expect from modern retro-styled RPGs designed to be an homage to the past's greats, but existing as part of that same past itself. And as for the story, I feel like there's still more to explore. For example (spoilers), there's Arek. Who is he, and what's his deal? We need a game that actually explains him. Not to mention that in The Legend Returns (which I just revisited recently), there's a point where they talk about how nobody knows exactly what Dual Blade is, or where it came from. How about more information there? Lufia had a great story, but it feels like it's still missing its final chapter.

These early game boss battles were so memorable. Catfish, tarantula, even the lizardman not giving up the key without a fight. You knew you'd have to be on edge because they'd wipe the floor with you as a 10 year old kid unfamiliar to the concept of grinding or hidden elemental damage bonuses. That Kukri thunder attack made short work of it though.

This is the first battle with Gades, I believe. Underrated game.

Nah, this plays in any old boss fight. The Sinistral battle theme is what plays whenever you fight any Sinistral, including the first encounter with Gades (which you can win, if you're careful and prepared).

I think you might have mixed up with Lufia 1 Fortress Of Doom Gades Battle Theme. They sounded alike , and the BPM are similar as well. This one is the boss battle theme in Lufia 2, though.

I'm sure you are referring to DS version Lufia II Curse of the Sinistrals. In that context you are right. During Gades battle, this theme plays. In SNES Version / SFC Version (Estpolis Dengeki II), this theme is a normal boss battle theme.
