Because Lufthansa CityLine only flew this route for 1 year and then killed it. A real bummer! It was like the hidden and not so "popular" route to get to the bay area. But that was probably exactly the reason ;)

Look how cose the taxi is at SJC. You can barely finish the welcome announcement and then you are at the parking position.

sweet. there has been speculation that this flight is not performing well and i am rooting for it, I would rather fly on the a340 than the a380 any day

Interestingly, quite a few pax appeared to be transferring from places like India. What's also interesting is that the A380 I had flown on the week before was only 60-75% full (basically everyone had a free middle seat), but that might not mean anything since I could only measure the load in economy, where I was sitting.

Also interesting to note, Indian people have the highest amounts of tech degrees in the world, due to a number of tech universities located in India e.g. Bangalore etc. Many of them are American owned and run too! many Indian nationals may be using the flight due to the convenience of the airport location right beside Silicone Valley :). Saves nearly an hour drive between the two cities. I see this route as predominantly business-related or aimed.

The fly needs about 21 hours . But you have to make at least one stopover. The first flight takes up to 11 hours and the second up to 9 hours.

@@tomasmuller5839 Weil sie von dem schönen Europa in Richtung ein dummes Land geht. Jedes mal wenn darüber muss fühlt sich nach selbstzerstümmelung an. Das einzig gute ist die Vorfreude auf den Rückflug. Bin froh hier leben zu dürfen und eher selten drüben zu sein.

Was kann die grandiose Natur dafür ,wenn einige Menschen in den USA nicht ganz unserer Meinung sind? Ich war im Mai das erste Mal drüben und die Amis sind mir viel symphatischer und gelassener als die teils ziemlich verbissenen Deutschen. Man sollte daher nicht alle über einen Kamm scheren ;) .

@@DerSoerper78 Naja ist wohl auch ein großer Unterschied ob man da lebt und mit diesen Vollpfosten Tag täglich umgehen muss. Wenn man in den letzten beiden Jahren Nachrichten gesehen hat, kann man sich schon vorstellen, dass die einen ordentlichen Dachschaden haben. Wenn man kurz mit denen redet, mag das in Ordnung sein, wenn man da aber die Ignoranz und die komplette Abwesenheit von Fakten mitbekommt, dann versteht man auch wie Trump an die Macht komme konnte. Amis haben nur einen Vorteil gegenüber Europäer sind sind eher positiv eingestellt, ansonsten sind die meisten mehr Schein als Sein und es ist schwer, ernsthafte Diskussionen zu führen, wenn Fakten keine Rolle spielen. Aber egal, bin froh hier zu leben und während ich es hasse Länder mit anderen zu vergleichen und zu sagen eine ist besser als das andere, die meisten Europäischen Länder und auch Kanada sind um Welten besser als die USA. Vor allem wenn es darum geht dort zu leben. Man bedenke keine Anspruch auf Urlaub und immer noch keine richtige Krankenversicherung.
