Luggage piles up at Jacksonville International Airport following massive cancellations

Did the reporter say that peoples' luggage was ending up in different cities? I thought the flights were canceled or delayed. So how is the luggage ending up somewhere besides where the owner is?

get the ugliest, brightest hair scrunchies or other brightly colored items you can and attach them to the handles if you don't have time to get flourescent luggage straps and clashing luggage tags online. won't help if your bag is wandered to a different city but my bags are always impossible to miss in baggage claim ... although right now I am really glad I've gotten in the habit of using Amtrak second class good food, your own tiny room with your bags where you can see them, and if the train is delayed just take a nap or a shower

I can't imagien the stress of trying to find your bag in that mass let alone hoping someone hasn't just walked off with your suitcase

What is wrong with the Delta corporate?! Surely they can they organize them by last name, flight number.
