Sir how frictional force is in the direction of motion ? I am so confused please help

I am not very sure about this but I guess the inertia of the luggage is opposing the motion of the bus so if the bus starts to move from its rest position, the object will be opposing it's motion due to inertia and tends to go back but the frictional force is pushing it forward... So yeah. I may as well sound dumb but I think this might be the reason
