Otto Klemperer had a reputation for erring on the slow side as far as his tempi are concerned. This is indeed a slowish tempo here, but these 2 great singers can carry it anyway. Sublime and majestic performance here. This is a performance that would not be possible to realise today. Incredibly clear diction and perfect immaculate rhythmical detail from Margaret Price. What a treat to listen to!

Wonderful. I was very lucky to see Otto Klemperer conduct 'Cosi' at the RFH in February 1971 and met him afterwards. quite a musical treat for a fourteen year old musical boy!
