I was born with a bad back and have lived on cheonic pain my entire life. I have not had back surgery. They don't have a great success rate. Often, folks end up worse off and in more pain when they get back surgery. It's extremely difficult living with extreme chronic pain. It's impacts every part of your life. Being in constant pain is exhausting, and it prevents you from being able to do the things you want to do, and it's hard having to ask for help to do basic things. Other people don't understand.

Insurance companies are CRAZY. I worked for an Insurance company for many yers and I would put through some claims bc of who the person was. Despite the plan not offering coverage. Actuaries and Dr.s working with the company would decide care. I knew what I was doing but I was making a lot of money and I knew the industry would not change. I live in Europe now and we have socialized medicine and it is so much better. Americans get such mis/disinformation about a myriad of issues. It is hard to watch.
