This is literally my new favorite song. THIS IS SO GROOVY!!! Such a simple, yet catchy piano pattern can really bring out the freak inside! 📚🎹
There is no better genre to have picked to remix this song other than Electro Swing; this combination of old-timey brass instruments & EDM is slowly becoming my favorite genre to produce! Of course I still threw in some classic P2 modernization, but overall I am SUPER proud of this remix! Aw yeah! When I saw your Community post about this upcoming track, I was super hyped for its release! October is one of my favorite months for remixes, and it's spooky, groovy gems like this that make it so! It's crystal clear that you had loads of fun producing this, and it's an absolute blast to listen to! 💥 I love the instrumentation in this remix so much. It melds so many different sound styles together beautifully, and while electro-swing is the dominant genre here, it's loaded with EDM, House, and Player2-styled elements (that's right, I _said_ it - Player2 is a genre!) As a sucker for piano - especially when it's integrated with electronic parts - I couldn't help but get in the groove right away... the Library Piano has never sounded cooler! Those bass notes at 0:07 hit just right for me, with their rich and growly overtones, and I especially enjoy the segments that feature piano, like that descending line at 0:45 and the piano solo at 2:13. The way it gets layered in with other instruments, like the muted trumpet at 1:28 is absolutely brilliant. And my goodness, those glissandos leading into certain measures, like at 2:12 are awesome! And on the topic of pianos, the assortment of electric pianos you used here is fantastic - the vibraphone-like one at 1:43 in particular sounds hauntingly gorgeous, alongside those breathy supporting sounds... it makes you feel like Luigi is taking a quick breather outside the mansion to regroup before heading back in, full-force, ready to take on a hoard of ghosts in the latter half of the remix. It really feels like a journey through different rooms in the mansion, which what I love to see! Holy cow, that bass! It sounds so clean, and the House-styled rhythms are groovy as all heck. I especially like when you layer it with some lower plucky sounds, like with those response segments at 0:20 and 0:29. The fact that the bass not only doesn't intrude on the other low-frequency parts, but _synergizes_ with them is testament to your immaculate mixing skills. Ooh, and that sub-sweep at the aforementioned break at 1:43 is superb. Also, I have to mention that the brass here is wildly detailed - for instance, the shake at 1:35 in the muted trumpet is so well-executed, and I would love to learn sometime how you created such an authentic sound. 🎺 Where this remix _really_ blows my mind is the way each segment transitions so effortlessly from one to the next. Some of my favorite transitions include that spooky resonant riser at 0:50, that quick wind-down at 1:42 (with the aforementioned sub-sweep), the buildup at 2:43 leading into the gotcha-drop (sooo good!) and that dubsteppy synth sequence at 3:25 right before the outro. The fact that you never let up from start to finish is so impressive, and each part is packed with unique and differentiating details, so there are always fun and interesting things to look forward to in the music! I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the drums, as well. The beats are so satisfying and dance-able, with peerless sound selection and jivey rhythms. The percussive fills are top-notch, as always, and the heavier elements drop out at key moment, allowing others to shine, like with that snare buildup at 0:44. Also! The pre-shifts leading into big snares and claps (e.g., 0:43) are a subtle, yet much-enjoyed detail! And speaking of delightful little details, the sound effects here are truly some of your best yet, I feel. The timing, selection, and implementation of each one is stellar, and they feel like they're meant to be there from the start. You know SFX are good when the remix would feel incomplete without them! E. Gadd's "oohh... suka suka" at 3:03 is superb, and I love Luigi's nervous cries throughout. My favorite one, though is the ghastly laugh at 3:17 - for such a long and unwieldy sound, you made it fit perfectly, and the way it pans across the sound stage is icing on the cake. 👻 You have such confidence when implementing your sound effects, and that's something I really aspire towards! Amazing video production here, as always! I really enjoy how you began with footage from the original scene in Luigi's Mansion, and holy heck, what was that transition at 0:14? There were so many things happening within the span of 1 second that I had to watch several times just to take it all in. Awesome stuff! The way the camera slowly rotates back-and-forth in a 3D space throughout with some very clean images (that Luigi looks straight out of LM3, for instance) is excellent, and I have no idea how you managed to create such a dynamic scene, but mad props for that! Once again, phenomenal work here! This is a piece that is going to be played and enjoyed across millions of sound systems throughout the year, and especially in the month leading up to Halloween, I can just feel it.  Haha oh wow, I am _my own_ genre?!? That’s very kind of you to say!! I’m glad to hear that my remixing techniques has allowed me to have my own category of music 😆 Oh yeah, I mean the Electro Swing genre already has a lot of those fancy slides based on the nature of the genre, so I’m glad to hear you were easily able to decipher those throughout! I did try to keep the layering to a minimum because there’s so many conflicting frequencies, but I did let a few overlaps occur 😎 

For a song title with Piano in it, I wanted to maintain as much of that original piano feel; even if that meant selecting a variety of pianos - I’m glad it didn’t sound too random and, quite frankly, actually helped with the eerie vibe!

 Oh man, so good to hear you enjoyed the bass. I had a tough time blending that one, as there’s actually 3 bass layers happening at once (except for the break section) - but that was a beast to mix! And certainly, as you know I don’t play a real instrument, so even that muted trumpet vibrato was computer-generated…though it sounds almost _too_ real, doesn’t it?!

 Transitions…what to say about those, haha! They’re almost my favorite part of every song. in order to keep a listener engaged, there _should_ always be an alteration every 8 bars - so that’s why it’s crucial to have smooth transitions between segments of a track. In fact, I personally feel that your remixes, Equalyze, shine in the transition department!

 It wouldn’t be a classic P2 remix without a little SFX thrown in 😉
But I did choose them wisely, as to not make the SFX too annoying. A few Luigi’s screams here & there does the job well, haha! I agree, the ghost laugh at 3:17 was a genius move; when I stumbled upon that sound-byte, I couldn’t resist _not_ putting it in! 

Haha oh my gosh yeah I was layering quite a number of glitch FX on top of each other, hoping to blend the video footage to the still-image! And, with the help of AI - I was able to transform that official artwork from the original Luigi’s Mansion 2 website into a 3D atmosphere…it’s crazy what AI can accomplish! 

Thank you as always for these insanely awesome comments; I sure hope this remix reaches the masses - while I’m super humbled by my current fanbase & everybody that takes the time to comment on my videos, I do want to expand my reputation, especially with a remix I’m extra proud of! Fun fact: the piano you hear throughout the level before this section is actually the ghost practicing. You can hear him hit wrong notes, start over, and even slam the piano in frustration! Over time, his playing gets better and more polished until you finally arrive, and he gives his grand performance!
