PD: The guys who ported Luigi's Mansion 1 to the 3DS are the same guys who ported TLoZ: Ocarina of Time and Mayora's Mask to the 3DS, developed the TLoZ: Link's Awakening remake to the Switch and ported Miitopia to the Switch (I'm refering to Grezzo)

I don't know if it's just me, but the fog and dust effects really blew my mind when I first played it (I know, it's nothing amazing now) but it's a bit of a shame they've been reduced a lot in the 3ds version. Apart from that, I'd say I prefer the 3ds version minus the colorfulness

Just a PSA the resolution for 3ds and gamecube in the video at 00:55 is swapped. Gamecube is 640x480p and 3ds is 400x240p

The mansion already looked superb back on the GC version but in the 3DS remake it looks absolutely stunning. I don't care if it's haunted. It's a gorgeous mansion, that's for sure.

I prefer 3ds because of the small quality of life improvements, use of gyro controls and the portability
