Don't forget the grandpa of drumming Buddy Rich. He was a show man from hell and he was full of chops, groove, and serious attitude. He set the bar. Nobody was bashing him for being a bad ass. Sure.. people said he was an asshole.. but seriously? Have you ever seen the West Side Story tapes? He was sick as shit! This Luis Clown Jr. guy has completely wiped out all evidence of what performing is about. TO be truly a show man. Wow... he has groove.. 1,000's more can do the same damn thing.

From a style and tone perspective I would have liked to see him with more TOMS. Its kind of weird to have a DOUBLE BASS and ONE TOM. Then they didn't really mic the cow bell right. He's a great drummer and I really believe that he will go far, but in a COMPETITION of this caliber, you have to bring your A-GAME!!
@DangerSquirtle10 жыл бұрын
Personally, I think it's more impressive to see a good drummer doing creative things when he has less to work with. And I don't think it's weird at all to have a double bass with only two toms. Look at Matt Halpern--he's an absolutely excellent drummer who does lots of double bass stuff, and he--up until fairly recently, I think--only used a floor tom. In my opinion, too much equipment can potentially be a kind of crutch. You start to rely on all your fancy doodads and forget the technique and such. That said, there are plenty of drummers who disprove that, such as Terry Bozzio, but I'm just saying in general.
@DrummerJez869 жыл бұрын
+David Rodgers there were many people in the early days of 2 bass drums with one up tom and 1 floor tom
@RodZilla119 жыл бұрын
I'm talking about a personal preference for competition perspective. When you are competing and everyone is close in skill level, additional sounds, TO ME, can be the turning point between winning and losing. And again, this kid, can really play, but I would have liked to see and hear a more full sound. But that's just me.
