Sometimes I think the reason why he didn't won first place in San Remo is because he was not an Italian-born singer, Ricchi E Poveri yeah they were very popular but they won with a song that was not as energetic and exciting as this one, it is funny how young Italians think this was a cover when this is the original version, I think there is a video out there of Laura Pausini remembering this song and how she was a fan, she had his poster on the wall when she was a teenager and she even sing a snippet of this song, I totally agree he could have been an international superstar but he decided to sing only in Spanish, with the years I have learned to appreciate his decision other artist have done the crossover and lost their essence they had to adapt to another market that do not necessarily would accept their own style, for example Shakira, she is known now world wide but to me the real Shakira died when she colored her beautiful black hair and started to show more and more skin, to me the real one was the one playing acoustic guitar not the americanized version of she-wolf or hips don't lie so I would have hated to see something like that happening to Luis Miguel 's career.
