It's a completely different league, also technical skills aren't important in matches you don't use them or need them to win. Not every match is the 2011 UCL final between prime FC Barcelona and prime Manchester United. Players today are more cogs in the machine and while yes Vini may beat Mbappe in a 5 A-side game or in street ball, Mbappe has proven to be the best player in the world through not just league and tournament play but also at the international level due to his ability to fit into these systems. Also, Mbappe is the superior athlete, being stronger, faster, taller, better header of the ball, better finisher. Not to say Vini is without attributes of his own, because he's the better dribbler, has a lower center of gravity, harder to push off the ball, better winger ie better at coming in with the ball from the sideline, more unpredictable. That said you can't really go wrong with either player, and saying Mbappe is average technically as some shot to his skill level is shortsighted considering how much the sport has changed since Pele days when you could start your career in your mid 20s and transition from a bartender to a professional footballer. Athleticism is much more at the fore today and the ability to do sombrero flicks is a thing of the past.

They are wide playmakers who use their pace to create unbalance in the defensive shape of their opponents. But they can not create plays and dictate the tempo of the game in the same way as Messi did from 2009-2022, Neymar (2017-2021) and Ronaldinho (2004-2007). Both Mbappe and Vinicius struggle to play the killing pass when the opposition sits deep in their own half pitch defends in a compact shape. They are unable to drop deep and dictate the tempo of the game. Their dribbling is super effective as long as the opponents deploy a high defensive line and there is space available behind the defensive line of the opponents. But when team sits deep and have pacy fullbacks with sufficient defensive abilities then Vinicius and Mbappe's dribbling is not so effective. Because both of them lack the ability to glide past players with close control. They can't do it like Messi, Neymar, Ronaldinho, George Best, Iniesta, Prime Hazard or Bernardo Silva. Brahim Diaz have that kind of ability.

I'm a Barcelona fan. And I would say that Vini is only better at dribbling than Mbappe. Apart from that Mbappe is better. Look at the goals he scores and the quality of the goals. He can play as a winger and still score tons of goals as well a cf. Vini is restricted to the wing. So for me Mbappe is more like Messi in terms of Versatility but of course both have them have not got the vision, game reading and spectacular passing ability of Leo. But in terms of being more impacting in a team it's Mbappe all day. I respect them both and I hope we are able to compete against them when they are together 😭😭😂
