Observing the difference between KPOP and PPOP, in my opinion, KPOP appears to be more commercialized and controlled. There seems to be a fear of breaking the rules and standing out too much. They heavily rely on backtracks to achieve perfect sound, and it's common to see idols who look similar. On the other hand, in the case of SB-19, a PPOP group, they deviate from these norms. They actively avoid lip-syncing and completely eliminate the use of a backtrack. I don't necessarily think PPOP is better, but it definitely holds a more intriguing appeal to me.

Uhm the pabibi type isnt the norm in the their industry I don't know if ur updated but they are groups that are starting to change how kpop is being introduced. different concepts and identities. They are groups can pull off not just cute concept but they can pull of any concept cuz today's music industry is evolving. sure some groups are still doing that but not all. Idk why u compare both kpop and ppop and just go and say ppop is better. All have different identities even the music industry in other countries as well like idk the US. Stop comparing with too much pinoy pride. I'm not hating sb19 the matter of fact I love the group they have the grit and the intensity wtih passion which make sense why they are getting so much recognition but I don't think it's necessary to just compare them to kpop or other music industry around the world

SB19 is just a trailblazer. They have achieved so many firsts for the Philippine music industry. This performance and the awards they won are just two of many. Considering that they even won Best Artist (Singer) Award in a major Korean awards show is a big feat. They really bring pride to the country.

As an A'tin and a Filipino when &Team came out that's also how I felt but you're the only one who articulated that. And what's interesting to see are those colorful light sticks glowing in the dark. These are Filipinos who were there for their beloved KPop idols and yet for that moment they lit their light sticks and I dare say they were proud of our Mahalima. Growing up in the Philippines I know that Filipinos are easily impressed with foreign talents and often times it would take Filipinos to succeed internationally first before the Filipinos back home would appreciate them. But that's okay, too because it makes these Filipino entertainers work extra hard to impress their own countrymen and that's what make them great! CashualChuck even brought up the fact that SB19 singing live and dancing hard like this exposed others who lip sync.

Must be that the background dancers called Skouts either as a group or individually may have been playing on international dance competitions before and winning. Thanks Luis for addressing the KPOP vs PPOP issue. Earlier today, I had a discussion with a friend who said he doesnt like PPOP bec they’re just KPOP copycats. I tried my hardest to not get into an argument but my thought balloon said “My God, it’s already 2024. It’s been 5 yrs since their debut. Are we still into this??” Admittedly, they did start out as a Kpop cover group but they have already shed that image. That was one of the reasons why they moved out of their Korean mgt company. People easily judge without knowing the real story.

Definitely do Felip's Kanako and Josh's Get Right. Both are impressive. The guys in red are the Skouts. &Team is a multi-nationalities group based in Japan (they have Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese members I think). They matched SB19's energy and despite just 1 day practice, they did so well with the Gento dance. I'm beyond proud of our mahalima.
