In a league where "Specialists" are no longer all that valuable. Versatility is WAY more valuable, having a guy like Gobert, who is terrible offensively (except for a vertical lob threat), and isn't even a good defender on the perimeter, but has a massive impact on the interior.... seems like he plays himself off the court in the playoffs multiple times now. I'd rather see KAT and Naz go up against the Mavs' bigs and create way more space for Ant to get going offensively (which they are desperately missing).
@Smido834 ай бұрын
What are Gafford/Lively? They have basically the exact same skillset on offense, and defense! And Gobert defends the perimeter as good as any big in the League. Luka has done this to everyone. Name a Center, any Center, Luka has hit a stepback 3 on him! He is doing this since he was 17 my dude... AD, Bam, Giannis, that succerpunching bitch Green... even Wemby who is only in the league for a hot second has eaten a stepback 3. Hell, he made the exact same shot against McDaniles in this game! Is McDaniels also not able to defernd the Perimeter? Great offense ALLWAYS beats great defense. Specially under the current rules. Btw... Gobert wasnt played off the court. KAT was. And rightfully so! He cant defend in space or P&R Situation. Not to mention that he is a horrible rim protector. But now that I think about it... You are right... He is just strong and has a ton of gas in the tank, which means he can outlast his matchups quite well. In addition to that, he keeps on scoring reasonably well too, despite giving so much on defense. Much like DJJ, who is a similar player, but quicker and more athletic, giving up a bit of strength and size. Also, it is DJJ that is taking on the best perimeter threat, so he has to do the most miles and be on his game 100%. He did an amazing job against Ant so far, really respectable.

This season I've said it several times, I really think it should be Luka that holds the MVP trophy. Sure Jokic and SGA are great choices, but if you look at how hard it is to stop a player, Luka is right at the very top. Not to mention, a Kyrie that is feeling it isn't too far behind either and he can get hot like instant coffee if needed. I have to repeat what Stan van Gundy correctly said: This is the best backcourt in NBA history. The game was actually quite close, mainly due to some extremely hot shooting from Naz Reid, who continues to be my favorite T-Wolves player. He's like a Karl-Anthony Towns, but good. Almost a unicorn-like player, if he ever learns to be a playmaker as well, that is going to be insane. At the very least he's a bright spot on the roster for sure. We got a few more moments where the Mavs just left Slo-Mo open and he correctly punished them for it, again. It felt like the same game as the first one, but the T-Wolves played a tiny bit better and the Mavs played a bit worse. This shit isn't going to hold up though. At some point the Mavs are going to hit their open threes, Kyrie is going to have another big game or Luka is going to have another big game and the series is over. So far, in these 2 games, it is mostly the Wolves having enormous issues of getting anything going (other than Naz Reid 3 pointers) and the Mavs having a dunk or a layup on the other side.

The thing that makes Luka such a great player is his decision making and his incredible passing ability. I don’t mean to say that he doesn’t take really bad threes from time to time. I’m talking about when he is on the move with the ball in his hands. He gets what he wants, when he wants, and no one has figured out a way to frustrate him.
