a man who was in a Nazi death camp , a violinist was ordered to play. He played with such depth that they ordered it played two more times. Each time the violinist played with more passion and feeling. In the video made about this, we are to take note that the whole camp heard this...and it was Yom Kippur. The whole camp heard. xo

Luka;'s superb playing adds a dimension to this solemn prayer recited in synagogues all over the world on the eve of Yom Kippur. In this prayer we renounce any vows we made under duress. The cantor begins to chant it quietly and is joined by all the worshipers. The second time he sings it louder and the third time very loudly. It is a very moving liturgy.

Very interesting. I am Christian but I am interested in Judaism because both religions have the same origin with a different development. I respect this. This composition is beautiful. Is it the Kol Nidrei for Cello and orchestra of Max Bruch? I did not know the piece and only knew that he wrote such a piece. Both things are interesting.

Isn’t it weird we know what emotion he was trying to communicate with these sounds. Cross-culturally and through eras(as far as I know) these sounds represent deep feelings. Maybe to some people there will be variations, to one person maybe it could convert loneliness and to another grief, but overall this is a sad, yet strikingly beautiful song. There are parts that are more upbeat and happy, but how is it that something so abstract and objective as music can universally convey such emotions to humans? Amazing.
