Lukas Graham-the Danish soul-pop band led by Lukas Forchammer-is nominated for three Grammys this year thanks to their hit single “7 Years.” The track was uploaded to KZbin back in December 2015 and has since been viewed over 450 million times, which helped its success on the Billboard Hot 100 where it peaked at No. 2. And it was all inspired by Forchammer’s childhood in Copenhagen.

“Christiania” is only around 0,13 square miles and only a few hundred people actually live there. It’s in the city center of copenhagen. But it is basicly a lawless little area with alot of police raids, because pushers openly sell weed from stands (no hard drugs at all, strict policy there). Being from copenhagen myself, i think Lukas often has a way of exaggerating the conditions of Christiania. Like in this interview where he makes it sound like this Big tough ghetto area, but in reality it’s more of a small hippy community and tourist trap
