I went to We Fest in Minnesota 20 years ago only because Willie was there. He was the highlight of the entire three day event. I would gladly do the same for Lukas. He sounds just like his dad in some of the songs, but gives it his own energy. Love this kid.

Have seen Lukas twice. First time was at Antone's. Met him and he talked for a bit. CHILL guy. SWEET man. I was upset with the audience though. People in the back of the room kept talking which was rude and then some woman in the 2nd row (I was in the 3rd) we were all standing up close to stage. She was LOUD so those of us around her couldn't hear him. A guy in the front asked Lukas to play a song HE had written that I love and Lukas had to stop and ask her to stop talking. She was THAT bad. He was so gracious. He didn't play HIS song which bummed me but I TOTALLY understood. He played a cover. Whatever he does, it's brilliant. Second concert was at one of Willies places in Austin. I was 3rd row. Close to stage again but sitting. As he started playing "Find Yourself" I held my hand up in a peace sign and he saw it and me, nodded, smiled as he played, moved in my direction and pointed. So: I got to actually meet him and caught his eye with a peace sign and got a smile from stage! I am SO lucky! We're lucky!

My sister paid for me to my second willie concert where I bought 2 Willie bandanas. I have been a fan of Willie's since I was a child. That night Lukas played with his dad and we loved him. We were getting ready to walk back to our car after staying at the casino after the concert. My sister recognized Lukas and got so exited I ended up giving her a bandana for him to write on. She gave it back and 3 months later I gave it to her for her birthday. It was so great how he stopped and just gave hugs and sweetness to us.

Lukas, I love, love, love you. Your talent as a singer, songwriter and musician are unsurpassed, even by your dad, who I have loved for decades. And you are a beautiful specimen of a man. Wish I was younger and in the front row of one of your concerts. Come to St. Louis, please, and not LouFest, but to a great concert hall like the Stifel Theater (always the Kiel Opera House to me). It is a beautiful venue that seats about 3,100. I was the secretary there from 1969 to 1973 and there is no better venue in St. Louis. Try to avoid playing the Pageant there though, the acoustics really suck.
