Fico: Another way of looking at this is that, if Russia expected to be able to deliver an uninterrupted supply of gas to Slovakia (and others), it should have known better than to attack the country through which that gas is transited. But, then, Putin thought Ukraine would succumb in a matter of weeks, so he badly miscalculated. As for Fico, like the rest of Europe, he's had three years to find an alternative supply, but, whereas other European leaders have taken steps to re-establish energy security for their countries, his insistence on Russian gas means he has failed in this important matter for his people.

Russian history books tell you that Czechoslovakia was “carved up” by Poland, Germany and Hungary in 1938, which is the environment in which they felt it necessary to occupy Eastern Poland in 1939 for the defense of its borders and protection of those people. This does skip on the real detail that as Germany invaded Czechia and Fascist Coup was launched in Bratislava the Polish Army took control of two Czechoslovak border towns that had two key railway junction along the Polish frontier. It was hardly facilitating Hitler, but its often equivocated with the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact that divided Poland, annexed Lithuania and set in train the Holocaust on those lands. It also never mentions the Soviet Russians holding joint military parades with their fascist chums, its just a shame that the Propaganda units of both countries went to town taking color pictures of these fraternal affairs. Clearly Naryshkin is done with trying to be the world’s most famous spymaster (he was interviewed by Western Press in 2021), after it only brought his house arrest in 2022 after the success of the SMO and is going back to his “Historical Truth Commission” roots of the 2010s?

Poland did not divide Czechoslovakia only Czech Republic attacked Poland during the Polish-Bolshevik war, attacking Zaolzie, inhabited by Poles, because they wanted to seize the natural resources for themselves. Poland regained these territories in 1939 r and took them back so that the Germans wouldn't capture them

It is enough to look at the map once to know that the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Germany was not in Poland's interest because the Germans could have attacked Poland from many directions.
