I only began to really experience Christ when I gave up my life and yes, I hate that life in so much as it is nothing, it doesn’t exist, but my life in Christ is far far more than the best that my life could ever be. #TeamGod 💞💕💞 the best that I could be, was a heroin addict, which is the closest I got to God without giving my life to Him, so I don’t hate heroin, I actually love it, but a life without God is only, at best, a poor imitation of life. God is life and He provides us with a life which far surpasses anything the human imagination could ever come up with. So this verse sounds like a paradox but it isn’t. It is about giving up nothing for everything, which sounds like a no brainer to me, but it takes trust and faith, because like with getting clean from drugs, you don’t know what’s on the other side, you can only trust that it is what you’re looking for and then you surrender to it, and signs follow 💖

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today is September 4, 2022. Today is The 13th Sunday after Pentecost. Luke 14:25-33 was our Gospel Lesson of the Day. And on this day, let us pray for families harmed by religious divisions and also for those considering whether to follow Jesus.

To be born again, you must confess your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and savior. As you grow in Christ, you go through the process of sanctification, which means becoming more and more like Christ.
