Sarah didn't understand Nicholas at all is she did she would know that he is very proud and to have the woman he cares about see him like that would be intolerable to him and humiliating to him and she comes in like you got to give me something to hold on to he can't even bring himself to Hope right now let alone give her any he's in a very bad state of depression which is understandable considering he just got shot went through surgery had a stroke and now can't speak properly he needs time to heal before taking on other people's problems
