Tracy Chapman wrote a brilliant piece of music that perfectly captured the trapped feeling that so many people that are a victim of circumstance have. Just like Chapman’s voice, the panic and desperation in that song is perfectly captured by Combs. That kind of authenticity only comes from experiencing that feeling first hand. The more rural, male voice really makes this song hit listeners like me a lot harder.
