This song brings tears to my eyes. Reminds me of when my Dad was still serving in the military and he would have to go out to sea for 6 month deployments when I was a lil girl. Home was Texas in the 90s. Hits home, with Dad sending us postcards from across the world and us looking up at the Texan sky wishing he was right there with us.

I graduated from App State in 2011, and remember seeing Luke play in town a few times. But one stands out in particular, we were tailgating before a football game and Luke was playing covers with Adam Church. It was cold and snowing, and there was literally an empty parking lot they were playing for, lucky for me and my buddies we were posted up tailgating right next to them and listened to him kill cover after cover for over an hour, front row. We always knew he was talented, but all had our doubts if he'd really make it or not. Looks like you made it Luke, thanks for bringing us along on the journey!! APP STATE!!!

Kyle Lee, I know right? He posted it impulsively without recording it anywhere else. It honestly was “a ditty” he was proud of and his first attempt at writing anything. He sang it for family and we thought it was great, but honestly never even thought to record him. I can kick myself now. Luke and his “co-writers” know the truth. Mike Morgan wrote that song and it was stolen from a public site and Mike’s account was wiped out. Coincidence? Just bad ethics in the music-writing world.
