We are going out. In his heart he knows Palmer should be starting instead of Foden. Foden plays in a structured system with the best players in the world. He won player of the year. Unfortunately there is no structure or system of play and that is why Palmer. He played for one of the most dysfunctional teams in the world in Chelsea and succeeded. It's unbelievable! Gordon should start as well as he has pace. Those 2 almost single handedly won the U21 championship not that long ago. 2 or 3 nil to the Swiss! I so hope I'm proven wrong 😢

it depends on the system being played. i do agree the lack of system has muted fodens abilities. But if shaw is truly avilable to play today that could actually be a possitive for foden if hes on the left. unless SG brings bellingham back abit and puts foden in the 10 position. If shaw is playing we would also have a very well rounded back 3 with shaw, stones and walker (although walker hasnt been the best). Without shaw the opposition have exploited our weakest left side pushing more defensively on teh right with saka and walker making it really hard to push through and when palmer played sure he was better but he also struggled to get into the game becuase our left was weak. Imo today we need shaw and gordon on the left, saka or palmer on the right. The new balance should make it easier for the left side to get through now HOPEFULLY. But also swiss are more fluid which means they will open pockets we can exploit, the other teams we played where happy with draws meaning they could sit deep and be happy about it which is why england has looked so boring. I think tonight england will play differently becuase at the end of the day they train to beat teams like the swiss, french, spanish etc.
