To find diamonds you will need to turn on the visibility of chunk boundaries with the F3 + G combination, and the menu showing the location and direction can be really useful. Once the lapis vein is located, head north (-Z) and begin digging downhill 4 blocks further

I like to mine just one block in a line. For those that don't know how. You mine one block above the floor, then place a trap door on the block above that. Then open the trap door and stand in front of the trap door and close it. It should push you down to one block high. Some earlier versions of MC doesn't allow this to work though.

Hey Luke! You have a hard time with creepers, as I can see. I suggest you install doors and put a bunch of cats all around your house behind fences, and put fencegates in front of your doors and just enter through those. Tip: If you want emeralds you need to mine into mountain biomes because they only spawn there. Also another tip: 1.18 is coming up so the caves and biomes change. So strip mine at y: -56 in 1.18 so you can find diamonds because they will be more common. Also, they will be less likely to spawn in the air and in caves.

If you are strip mining for diamonds go as low as possible bcz diamonds spawn more frequently the deeper you are but the only downside is lava also spawns a lot in air pockets Hope this helps

Luke I would recommend using a texture pack or optifine to improve your fps and you can put on shaders which is like realistic minecraft
