On summer vacation to Italy in that period. I remember the Altromondo Studio’s in Rimini very well. Great time! Still play my 12” Italo records Every now and then 🤘🏻

I'm italian and these was my teenager song: it was time of sunny holidays and beautifull hot girls too. at that time I could not imagine that these songs and this style would be recognized worldwide and would inspire entire generations. The radios and the ballrooms passed them but in Italy, even if they had huge sales volumes, they were held in little account. THX . Great execution!

It's an incredible genre. I love 80's synth pop, but this subgenre is something extra. I always listen to it while zooming around in my 1983 Alfa Romeo. It feels like time travel, for someone who was born in the 90's!

I hit the Like button the second I heard Dolce Vita. I was in Spain when it came out and every hotel band was playing it. So much so I bought the 45" when I was there. First and only time I've bought a record abroad. I say "I" I mean my parents. I was still at school. 🤭

The tone for Dolce Vita is absolutely spot on, so crisp
2 жыл бұрын
Well, not spot on. That bell-like synth is made with a lot of resonance on the filter which isn't in this version. No idea if the Prophet 5 can do that sound, never played one. My Polysix can do such sounds reasonably well, it's the only synth I have that manages it... It is a very nice rendition though, it definitely catches the vibe of the original very well.

I just want an album of the complete songs remade... it's really cool seeing/hearing the keyboards that created these iconic sounds that I grew up with.

Reminds me of music classes at school late 80s-early 90s. Everyone tried to get through the door first to baggsy the best keyboard... The ones you could sample yourself saying ”shit” and play it back as a tune.
