Surprise surprise guys, I'm back with another reaction video!
Due to the controversy and the response from my reaction to Arilena Ara, I thought it was only right and fair to delve into the other act who came close to winning FiK 58 - Elvana Gjata - Me Tana.
As you can see, I had difficulty :(

@@NoName-vu6bt Elhaida was sick but her voice wasn't bad at all at least in my opinion , Elvana was great she didn't sound bad not the best but decent vocals and she had time to improve a lot and for sure they will change the choreography and it will be much better , now talking about the song i like Shaj i thing it stands out with live instruments in a festival like fik but for Eurovision i'm not sure it gives me serbia's vibes last year !! I think Elvana was the right choice for Albania to do very well , i mean the international juries and Eleni Foureira picked her as their favourites so i think she's better !! Now she lost i just wish the best luck for Arilena in Rotterdam

This is exactly how I felt. Both songs are amazing to me. I could not choose between both but after watching the final live, Arilena just won but it was sooo close

Albania always has send balades in Eurovision, similar to each other, and always remained at the bottom of the list. Arilena's song is similar to those too, no daubt that her voice is very beautiful but nothing is special in her song..However, Elvana's song is so special and different. Elvana should have won, but since the jury is corrupted she couldnt. Arilena is also a great artist but this time Elvana was better. The jury simply chose Arilena because she was a talent revealed by x factor, which is directed by Vera Grabovca, the same woman that directed this festival.

Elvana was my fave. I believe the Elvana is going for something completely different from what Albania usually sends. She slayed the whole performance. I still love Arilena though.

Both songs and singers are amazing. I personally favor party songs and would have chosen Elvana. I also think Albania should use 50% televote and now allow one judge change the entire result.

Albania threw away a golden opportunity to try something new, they go with ballads all the time, zzzzzzz. I love Elvana's song already, but I am sorry Elvana didn't get the opportunity to polish it and ramp up the performance, she is a great performer, she would have put on a great show at Eurovision.

I see some people below me have shortly explained one of the main reasons this has sparked a controversy. The second reason is that there is no form of a public vote and we therefore have no influence. When the broadcaster RTSH put out the songs for this years FIK Arilenas song got 400 thousand views. Elvanas song got over 3.5 million. The majority wanted her to win.. and that was not taken into consideration whatsoever. I assume the reason they dont want to have a public fair voting system is because then they lose the power to do shady back deals such as what happened this year. Theres no way that the addition of the Albanian jurors and the shows producer (being Arilenas manager) have no correlation between each other. No way!

The full story: The jury was made by 2 Albanians and 3 others from other countries. They left out of final a couple of good snogs. Then the moment of votin came. 3rd place Sara Bajraktari 2nd place: Elvana 1st place: Arilena. Now arilena posted a pic of her hilding th trophey. All the Elava fans was mad about it. Next day the Albanian TV (RTSh) posted how the jury voted. Juries from other countries voted Elvana with 18 points, and Albanian juries voded her lower. The voting was made focusing to: vocal performance staging and LYRICS wich Albanians propably doesnt know about. Let me explain. Elvana"s song was about somebady she has loved before but he or she doesnt give a sh*t about her. She says how her eyes shine when she sees him or her Arilena"s song was about somthing she couldnt handle inside her body, like a feeling or something. So the Albanian are trying to take the Competition back so Elvana could win, Wich is never gonna happen

Shortly trying to explain the 'rigging' part. there were originally 3 international jurors deciding who should win FiK58(one of them being Bjorkman), but shortly before the 1 sf started the producer of this years‘ FiK (who happens to have a connection to Arilena through her X factor win) decided to add 2 albanian jurors. In the final, all of the 3 international jurors ranked Elvana first, whereas one albanian juror ranked her 5th, and the other one 11th making her the 2 place overall with only 3 points behind Arilena who only got the first place by on of the albanian jurors. The one albanian juror that put her 11th explained her placing with Elvana‘s song having too much Gypsie and Western sounds in her song, it didn‘t sound 'albanian' to her which doesn‘t make any sense since it was one of the most ethnic songs there was in the nf. The 'shortly explaining' didn‘t really work but I hope you understand what I said lmao

To answer your question Luke, basically a lot of fans can't accept that the jury members who voted all had individual opinions. One jury member didn't like Elvana's entry and ranked it second from last. This meant Arilena beat Elvana by a few points. In my view, even if you're a jury member you're still entitled to your opinion and for people to be so nasty to both Arilena and the juror in question since the result has been really sad to see. Eurovision at the end of the day is just a song contest, and it's sad to see quite a lot of people be mean towards other artists and fans because they're favourite didn't win a national final. Anyway, great video. Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff in the coming year! :)

Elavanaa Gjata was the bestttt , omg that song , I had listen to that song in Usa a lot and I love it and I asked one of the owner shop that put that song in his coffe shop and he showed to me , he said I don’t know what the song is about but he liked so much that’s why you put there , and he said every costumer that came there wanted the title of the song , now that’s my favorite song . Arilena was not bad but I think we will stop with painful and sad songs , people need some songs that and in the future they will hear that song , and one of this songs is Me tana , that people never will forget that song and you will see that song is gonna be a hit .

Also, that Mikaela Minga juror contradicted herself saying that Me Tana didn't have anything to do with Albanian music (ranked her second-to-last) oh but she ranked last a song that literally says Albania Is Free and talks about independence. Luke first of all let me say I am starting to love your videos. Than related to the huge discussion about Arilena vs Elvana its a little bit difficult to understand if you are not Albanian but I will try to explain to you as shortly as possible. So the main ida of the problem is FiK vs Eurovision. So as u know this was the 58 year of FiK and from the beginning of its journey the main Idea of FiK was to educate the public with good Albanian traditional slow pop music. And its self FiK has a lot of regulation that this year were not followed, yeah I mean some of them should be changes and updates to now days but this should be with an open process meanwhile some others can change the concept of FiK. Related to this both songs had problems against regulation but Arilenas was fitable on the main concept of FiK Elvanas song as you said sounded a little bit like Fuego a little bit Spanish a little bit Armenian but not Albanian. Thats why one of the Jurors, an Albanian musicologist ranked Elvana very low on her results table and caused a big reaction through the fans and experts. The first one accusing there was a cheating on the results and the second accusing organizers for the deformation of FiK by allowing songs as Elvanas Genas Robert Berisha's etc to be part of FiK. I can understand that Elvanas song can be catchy and good for Eurovision but is not fit for FiK . Thats why maybe we should think the idea of dividing FiK from Eurovision song selection.

I totally agree with you! Elvana will not get the public vote because of song rotation fatigue, and Arilena song will definitely get Jury support! Even if I like Elvana song, I think after 2 months I will get tired of listening, is like a radio hit that you like it at the moment but after a while is getting annoying! With Arilena is something different: the ballad is touching you and hardly wait for the english version! So, in the end I think Arilena is the best Albanian choice for Eurovision!

If I have to rate from 0-10 points Arilena: Vocals =10 Lyrics 10 Composition=10 Elvana: Vocals=3 Lyrics = 0 Composition =5 They don't rate stagging on FiK, it's the national song festival. That's why Arilena won!! P.S: Elvana's fans need to get over this fast. She lost. The moment you accept to take part in a jury festival you should be up to accept the max points or zero points.
