Even though Platini was amazing in the Euro 1984 you can't say the rest of the team was average. Tigana, Giresse, Fernandez, Bats... that same team will eliminate Brazil in the next world cup's quaarter finals, they were definitely not a bunch of randoms + Platini. Also Deschamps was a defensive midfielder, not a center back.
