It’s different from its predecessor except gameplay. Bonus levels are amazing and unique, crash site is one of the best hubs ever made in a game, boss fights are cool, and the PlaySquadron Go! level is just special.

Astro bot is one of the greatest games ive ever played. Level designs are truly incredible. There is a reason it’s the 4th highest rated game in history. It should be GOTY, hands down. It’s the ONLY game that truly showcases what the PS controller is capable of

Top three for me 1. Astro Bot 2. Wukong 3. Warhammer Helldivers 2 should be third but the devs have recently dropped the ball on that game. But god damn FF7 Remake was so good I replayed it 2 more times (dont usually do that either) and as soon as I got Pro I started Rebirth and just doing pretty much every single quest/ task I can do and Im loving it, its really an amazing game

I disagree with the premise that Balatro is not deserving of the Best Game award because it lacks narrative. I think it's more about how well executed the fields it focuses on are, and the player experience. Also, it was developed by a single person as a side project.

100%. Is a game like never being done before. I would say the game blow out of the water on the creative and innovation department Astro which is a sequel... Elden Ring that is just Dark Souls 3...Final Fantasy A SEQUEL...Metaphor who is just Persona, but with a different coat of pain. Balatro is so unique you literally can't find anything close to it, but you can find multiple JRPG's like Mataphor...multiple Souls games...multiple Action games like Wukong, but you can't find a multiple Balatro. Is a genre defining game that is gonna be the standard and is gonna be copy cat non stop on 2025. We should be rewarding innovation and creativity instead of just sequels for Game of the year.

I found your channel from a compilation of westerners laughing at Mobile Legends Bang Bang (bang bang does sound funny). That game is the 2nd biggest eSports game this year and the 3rd biggest of all time in terms of peak viewership, League of course being on top. Looking at the lineup of teams that made it to the world championship this year and the storylines, MLBB might actually catch up to League in PCU. Most people see the game being nominated along side giants like DOTA 2 and LOL is already a W for MLBB. Infinite Wealth is my Game of the Year because I couldn't stop smiling while playing it. Of the three 60+ hour JRPGs it respects your time the most, has the best side content by far, and has a really fun take on turn based combat. Its story is lacking compared to the prior game, but when a game is that much fun (with good characters) you can get by with a lesser story. My number 2 isn't even on this list (Unicorn Overlord). Metaphor would be my 3rd.

The problem people have is that Shadow Of Ths Erd Tree is just a expansion and not a game, it's taking a place that could have had been a actual full 2024 release game title, the live service games from 5+ years ago are never put into GOTY but has categories like "Best Ongoing Support", why wasn't Erd Tree put into that since Cyberpunk 2077 did when it's large expansion was released?

They did not made an exception for Shadow of the Erdtree. DLCs always could be nominated for GOTY, but it never got enough votes to actually happen until now. For people who don't know theres almost none rules for the judges to select the nominations. If Tekken 8 had enough votes to participate in the best RPG of the year it could be nominated without any problems.

1:45 Actually - you can beat Mohg very early in the game if you complete Varre's quest. In theory Mohg - despite being one of the more difficult bosses - can be beaten before any other Shardbearer, even before Godrick or Rennala. Godrick, Rennala, Rykard, Radahn and Mohg are all optional bosses. You neet to beat two of them to complete Elden Ring, but to decide who to beat is up to the player. Which means that you can do a playthrough where you beat Radahn and Mohg and ignore Rykard, Godrick and Rennala. That said - I completely agree that DLCs should not be eligible for Game of the Year, and neither should remasters and remakes be eligible. Which means that in my opinion Final Fantasy VII Rebirth should not be on the list either. PS: If you don't like giving Remakes the vote - why did you give one to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth? That's a remake too.

Disagree. Elden Ring SOTE IS a game that you play. DLC is still a game. It’s not a car. It’s not a sandwich. It’s not a music album. It’s a video game. You’re looking at this too narrowly. As a gamer, what is the best video game content you played this year? For many people it’s Elden Ring SOTE. Personally, I think GOTY should go to Black Myth Wukong. However, SOTE is the second best game I played all year. I have no issues with the nomination.

It's literally god of war ragnarok, but Chinese mythology, the game was excellent! It's tough in the beginning, but you just need to level up and try different builds to figure out what works against the boss you're fighting!

It has a lot of bugs, the things they sell are basically scams, you can't skip the cringe victory scenes (you can in Overwatch), a lot of important settings are missing (control-wise, but there isn't even a setting to adjust brightness & contrast on PS5, or to disable crossplay or change the color of the dots), and they also do a poor job of banning cheaters. I haven't played the last few COD entries, but I see no innovation there. Just a lot of things that annoy me and shouldn't be an issue in 2024. Stellar Blade offers many more accessibility options and should have been nominated instead, also for Goty. It is by far the game I enjoyed the most this year.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is definitely my choice its super buggy atm but even eith the bugs its still such a phenomenal game.

You can get to Mogh pretty quick if you know what your doing. That being said ER DLC should not be GoTY contender.

Genuine question. Why do some live service games find their way on the list while other don't? Why, out of all the MMOs, is FF XIV there? I mean, I don't struggle to imagine that their new 2024 content is better than The War Within but still it seems odd.

For me, it’s Balatro for GOTY with Astrobot as a runner up. To me, Balatro is a game that is perfectly what it should be while being incomparably unique. Balatro as GOTY would be a proclamation that a concise and well executed vision is more important than huge budgets on “safe bets”

LAD Infinite Wealth should've been nominated. I don't think the gaming public in general realizes how good of a game it is, and how different/expanded upon it is from the previous entries.

I have loved all the Yakuza games, even the weaker entries. Infinite Wealth is probably amongst my top favorite entries. My GotY was between it and Metaphor, and I think I have to give that extra nudge to Metaphor, but it's like neck and neck for me.

Infinite Wealth was great gameplay wise but the story wasn’t the best, especially coming off how great 7’s story was.

It being “more” of something, why does that disqualify it? Surely that means any sequal would be the same? And if Shadow of the Erdtree is disqualified cause it’s an expansion, why are we giving credence to live service games like Fortnight or FF14 etc? Personally you need to be really strict or completely open. If something new released this year then it qualifies, or it has to be its own standalone game.
