I don't mind the other artists they've used so far, but it's definitely not the same style. Mick's style was like heavy industrial metal with sound design focused across the entire spectrum of frequencies the human ear can hear. Most of his tracks didn't sound like music tracks all the way through, but would sputter brutal interludes and breakdowns that were more of a soundscape of hell rather than a rhythm or a melody. Neither Andrew, nor David, nor these new guys sound anything like Mick at all. They sound like instrumental metal bands. That's not a bad thing, but that's not what Mick went for. You could almost say he just created pure industrial metal soundscapes but with tones and octaves that no one I know of really did before. He literally created a genre that metal bands adopted, but they still did it in a purely musical way with common structures and harmonies etc.

The board of investors and Satya are definitely not happy with the gamepass numbers and only a 5.4% increase in revenue from Activision. There is no way GP will reach 100 million players until 2030... So Xbox are not releasing games on other platforms because they want to. They have to.

Now look at us, the entire slate is on PC. Hmm... Xbox was trying to bring Gamepass to those platforms even before that. According to FTC documents during the ABK trial, Xbox profit margins are higher than Playstation's, only behind Nintendo. Playstation gets the highest revenue but their profit margins are razor thin, even with over 200 million consoles across ps4/ps5. That's why they are launching on PC and begging you to buy their remasters. The industry in the console space is not growing, Sony is slowly moving the goalposts and following those footsteps too but you're just too blind to see it. With all the mismanagement they have had in recent years I believe that they might start doing the same sooner than later.

I remember getting the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy on NES for my 6th birthday...It took me all year to actually beat all 3 of them because they were so damn hard! The 3D Ninja Gaiden games are also amazing, and I'm stoked that we are finally getting a new one!

This is probably the first ever show that I’ve watched that made me instantly go wishlist/preorder a game with Expedition 33. I hope Xbox has more up their sleeve for the rest of the year. While this showcase was amazing there weren’t any exclusives outside besides South of Midnight , which while looked good was the weaker one out the bunch and might end up being a time exclusive. With reports of Halo and Gears going cross platform I see this more as a “Gamepass showcase” which holy hell that value! I can see Xbox trying to sell PlayStation on it. I can see a future where gamepass is on PlayStation consoles as well as Switch. Imagine Microsoft really try to sell Nintendo on gamepass with the Switch 2…Sony would have no choice and this will only end up being great for the gaming community. The free to play market is cannibalizing gamers attention that console exclusives are getting harder and harder to justify no matter how good it is at times unless the game goes viral

It does seem like they’re going for a heavier feel but it’s mostly just how developers play games when doing showcases, the slow pans and deliberate movement always looks sluggish. When you actually play it yourself it’ll be way faster.

Rage 2 was alright when I played it. idTech can definitely run massive open world games, but I don't think Id themselves are in that market to make open world stuff since their history shows they are extremely outstanding with making condensed map design, this next Doom game being a bit of a blend of having more open space but clearly still stage based levels

Xbox had to do get rid of exclusives because they didn't sell enough consoles, hence why the 2 best selling consoles still don't release their games on rival consoles. Plus, MS has the ability to become a 3rd party publisher, by throwing billions of dollars into their gaming division and waiting for profit to come years down the road. MS has enough money to play the long game, Sony can't really afford to do that, so unless they wanna become a 3rd party publisher like MS then they probably won't release on xbox.

The games look alright to me. the only one I could give two shits about is south of midnight. that whole 30fps or less weird art direction kills it for me. I get headaches when games are 30fps or less. thank god most if not all of the games are coming to PlayStation.

2 takeaways. They need to shut up. Way too much talking with what more than once I'm sure were punched up by GPT scripts. 2nd. Is it just me, or does Doom look extremely concerning. The art design is metal. But the loop and pacing look slow and clunky. It's like a bad rhythm game almost. I am dreading lugging myself across another open world on a fetch quest or kill quest. Give me a level to run through, a curated experience, not choose my own adventure. Accessibility is great, but it is going from insulting me for playing on easy to just giving us the keys is giving me whiplash. I am getting the feeling their not confident in the loop and couldn't find a good balance to then scale up and down and thus went full starfeild with difficulty. I may be in some kinda mood, but idk.
