Ya I can confirm if you play on a console that has never been online you get a lot more Cr. When I was younger I would leave forge running when I would leave for school and when I got home it would give me about 3200 Cr. But I’m pretty sure that it would max out after about an hour and a half.

Back in 2010-2011 when I didn’t know Xbox Live was a thing, I GRINDED the heck out of Halo Reach. I played offline because I had the Xbox 360 Arcade and I would have to connect my Xbox to the TV in the living room and my parents said I wasn’t allowed to move the modem, until February 2012. I was Eclipse while playing offline. I didn’t get nearly as 50Cr? I got way, way, way more. Around 5,000 - 12,000. When I connected to Xbox Live... I lost my Eclipse rank and took me way back to Captain Grade 2. I died...

If you make an account that isn't registered to Xbox live you get way more credits. Once you register the account you end up getting the account reset. I could get like 5000 cr in like 10 minutes.

I second this. I was field marshall in reach and after about 10 months of play took my account online for the first time (for that gamertag anyway) copped a 1.3 million credit "fine" for 'not playing online and earning credits legitimately'. If you have an account that has never been online (so you never had connected the xbox to internet or made any sort of account for it just a name for the account) and played on it, there is no credit cap at all, and you get way more credits than this. I used to have no xbox live on my xbox 360 and i got up to general pretty fast actually. its once you bring that account onto xbox live (not even necessarily xbox live gold) that you get way less credits, they even took away a lot of my rank and i am now only a captain

I made it to hero offline. The higher rank you get in forge, it looks like the more cresits it gives. I can now get 25 000 credits per match of forge and campaign. That is usually where it maxes per match for me. I never had a credit cap fortunately.

This video is wildly inaccurate. Offline is way different from no Xbox live membership. With no membership, you gain credits even faster than online with a membership. It's worth pointing out at this time that you have to have never played the game online with a gold membership in order for it to work, otherwise this video is indeed accurate

Andrew Helmer - playing the same game 24/7 for over a decade just to get max rank doesn't give a sense of accomplishment either lol. If you're gonna be playing offline, I recommend just modding. You'll get all the cool armory you want which will make your campaign cutscenes more enjoyable, seeing your character looks so badass. I used to own a 360 with no internet connection. It was rough and modding was the only way I stayed sane since each mission only gave me 50 credits.

A couple days ago, I started playing Reach again. Played halfway through the campaign on Legendary, bought a lot of gear from the armory, and overall felt pretty good about my progress. But after some time, I got curious to see what Xbox Live would offer. So - because I thought that it wouldn't do anything drastic - I got it. I was eccstatic; I could access the daily/weekly achievements, get a ton of cR and I could record my progress and see how far I had come...! But it was all stripped away when I actually loaded up the game. It prompted me to either fork over nearly all of my cR (which I have ~93000) or keep everything and make a default character. I chose the latter. Now I'm stuck with a Recruit-ranked default dude and I can't even disconnect from Xbox Live and play as my once badass Warrant Officer girl. It really sucks :(

best way to get credits is the play grifball and not plant the bomb, but sit there for the full length of the match. If u hold the ball for the whole game and spawn kill the other team you will get upwards of 18k Cr per game. An average game will still give you over 10k Cr consistently. I used this method for about 2 hours and received 130k Cr. The max time for the game is close to 15-20 minutes.

And the commendation grinding example you showed in the online video in the ONI Sword Base mission? Little me googled that on my fourth generation ipod and spent HOURS trying to figure out how to do it properly. When it stopped working, I didn't realize it was because I maxed the commendations; I thought they had patched it! I didn't play any online because I didn't have gold and I wasn't allowed to anyway at that age... Im currently on brigadier grade 3 and will be back too let you know when I reach inheritor and yes it does take a long time but since I dont have a job I was able to grind levels since i made my new account it has taken me almost 1 and a half years to even get close to general, so if you do this I have a method that wont do much till you get too later levels all you have to do is place a kill ball and a spawn point under said kill ball and die untill you get to 30,000 points make sure to also set your game points like death, suicide, kills, etc to 10 and you'll get the max amount you can after reaching the max points of 30,000. The time it takes to reach this amount is just a little past an hour, maybe an hour and 15 minutes at the least and you will have to do this over and over everyday, so while your busy just leave your xbox on for an hour after you set up the game and do whatever it is you need to do

Used to have an Xbox that wouldn't connect to the internet. In reach, credit earnings (in offline mode) was based on current level. The first level on legendary would only give you 50 CR, but if you were a much higher rank you would earn more. On one of my later ranks (maybe lieutenant but I can't remember) I tried it again and would get 10,000 CR for completing a level. The higher your rank and the more you unlock will lead to greater CR. LTN's math is wrong because he calculates linearly, not exponentially.

If you create a profile that's not an Xbox live profile, you can ring in credits like no tomorrow. When you convert your character to a Live membership, it resets stats and takes you down to 85% of your credit score and whatever level its at.

I'm Lt. Colonel grade 1 played since 2012 all offline play on my 360 that works better than an Xbox One and I found a 'glitch' so to speak. In firefight if you go to setting --> spartan setting and set health and damage to max and turn bottomless clip on. Set all waves to unlimited and all waves to elite kill teams play for 30 min you get around 2000+ credits (I forgot) so I used that and low and behold Lt. Colonel grade 1. TL;DR get any rank using firefight settings. Works on all versions as far as I know.

Lord Tachanka I remember that I got my offline account to the Eclipse rank, yet it got reset the day I bought Xbox Live. You wouldn't believe how upset I was when I got demoted back to private. I grinded the heck out of the game.

I have done a extensive amount of testing in this subject the amount of credits you earn are based on if you play the game in a version previous to a patch or not. If you only play the shipped game with nothing else added to it, you would get something like 2k-15k credits for every 10 minute game dependent on the rank. The credit you earn every 10 minutes do also increase when you reach a higher rank and in Brigadier it's something with patched version like 375 credits every 10 minutes.

🔴I got close to doing this!!!🔴 I can’t believe someone made this video but it’s awesome and a never thought I would find it but when I was a kid with an Xbox 360 my first game was halo reach and I had no Xbox live. I thought it was was the greatest game ever and would spend my days endlessly playing campaign, firefight and making epic Forge world maps that I thought would be cool even though I would never have anyone to play with...but what is so impressive to me about this is that a got the the rank, General just off of campaign, firefight and forge. The funniest part was soon after I had achieved general I sat on my controller one day a somehow discovered the armory....I had never spent a credit until reaching general and I blew through all my credits I had saved up until then In one day. That’s my crazy experience. Soon after I got Xbox live and had to make a new account and got up to brigadier on that. Maybe my combined progress would have got me inheritor...who knows? Halo reach was such an amazing game and was pretty much my childhood lol.

When I first got reach is was about seven and I had no clue what multi-player was I got to a very high rank (not inheriter though ) from just playing campaign all the time I had almost every armor in the game and had beaten the game dozens of times over when I finally played multi-player I absolutely destroyed everyone and it left me wondering why those people sucked so bad I guess my countless hours of murdering elietes really payed off

A lot of armor pieces did not even show up in the Armory until you were a certain rank.

Could too. My little brother would play multiplayer games like CoD when I barely touch those game's multiplayer and he was having a hard time, I borrowed the controller and destroyed. Reason why I done so good was probably Halo's snappy multiplayer, playing swat all day makes you good at aiming. My skills from that carried over and I dominated. Only thing I had to do was increase the sensitivity. Sometimes it doesn't take skill at all if you ask me, first game of Fortnite I played; I made it to 2nd place, probably only played that game a maximum of 5 times after that because I got bored. You may think I'm lying or I'm trolling, I'm doing neither.

Idk how but you really botched this one. You did no research into how credits were acquired and how much they increase with rank. It seems like you just took the route that would make the easiest video, not the route that would give the most credits. There were major differences between offline, online, and unregistered credit accumulation in reach. If you had no updates for reach on an account that wasn't registered on xbox live, its was relatively easy to farm credits in both forge mode and firefight. You could easily get 5-12 thousand credits in an hour of firefight depending on how the match was set up and how many enemies you killed. This video was very lazy and a complete waste of time. If you are not gonna put in the work, then don't bother.

I remember reaching General Grade 4 only offline because I haven't had Wifi at home. It took me maybe over a year, well after that I messed up my Profile saves and lost everything :)

i got to max rank in 2013 after having the game since launch and i never had an internet connection until around 2016. I spent basically my whole childhood playing halo reach :)

That drastic credit drop is only applied if you have a profile that's linked to an xbox live account. If you have a standard, no live, profile you get the usual one-to-two thousand credits per campaign mission

I’ve played only Halo Reach single player campaign on XBOX 360. Never played multiplayer for various reasons. I’m a Brigadier Grade 3 and nearing General. I’m getting old so I think this is my last console. There are some things I’ve noticed in your video that needs correcting. First, credits received depends on rank. Higher rank/higher credit. I currently get 220 credits for completing a level on normal and above. Second, the amount of credit you got was due to the daily challenges posted online and still are being updated to this day. Look at your break down tally. You got credits for completing not just the game but a challenge. You get credits for completing milestones commendations too. The server issues may have to do with the Halo announcements for Halo 3 and Waypoint. I get that ad daily despite it coming out years ago. If the servers are down, my avatar is a recruit until it updates. I still see my actual rank and credits in the armory. I think it’s a bad thing to award little credits for playing. I maxed all my single commendations so it’s just the challenges that helps me advance. Finally, NPC are crap. They either hide in the back and not do nothing but shoot blanks or give away your position and blocking your exit for the enemy. Again, I’ve played ONLY single player campaign and never played a multiplayer match.

i dont have live and im already bregaider i did this offline and i have gotten the good helmets like MJOLNIR Mk5-6 and GUNGNIR helmet with some grunt confete on death i go to a custom game and get one kill after that i walk away for a while and get like 30,000 after several hours its not that hard but it is annoying knowing i can get X2 that with internet

I was always been finding my way to get to captains rank while offline on halo rech,got it in a week ends worth of grinding, A good memory,tainted by time it took to finish it

i used to just play firefight or forge and tie rubber bands around my thumbsticks so im constantly moving and could get up and go about my day, come back when credit limit is reached and rinse and repeat, worked a charm for me

I've been playing Halo Reach for such a long time. I used to play offline a lot, and i ended up getting to level Warrant Officer.

A friend of mine did this for over a year straight then he would go and do the same thing but with internet connection and he would repeat this every year, he did this before Halo 5 and got inheritor, somehow, idk how he wasn’t terminally ill, sick, or deformed or stuff like that the last time I had gone over to his house was over 3 years ago

I have gotten Inheritor in Halo Reach Offline, I have never played online. But, as you progress higher ranks, you get more credits each time, and AFK in forge got me a lot of money, but please note i have been playing more then 10 years. (I spent way more then just 8 hours a day playing, i literally devoted my life to play it)

Luke,...It doesn't really take 22 years or something..I'm in captain grade 1 in reach that to in 1 year ( I did not play for half the year) I get like 1500 cr every 2 rounds of firefight,

I was just glancing through my library then i found this video. Probably saw this video 3-4 years ago and well offline works differently when you don't have a live account. I'm around the 5th to the highest rank in Halo Reach and the CR i was getting was around 20,000-30,000 just for AFK forge and Firefight. Usually 2-3 hrs to be safe and get max cr.
