Tip for anyone who wants to do this: Basalt is important in building. It has high enough blast resistance to fend off Ghast fireballs, and it's fireproof! Edit: also if you want Nether Brick, just smelt Netherrack in a furnace.

The wisest choice is to make lots of wood or stone pickaxe while in a playthrough even if you have a better pic so you can save that pickaxe for blocks that can't be mined by the stone or wood you only need a stable resource method but due to water being unobtainable stone will eventually run out same with wood i don't remember there ever being nether saplings

one interesting thing is that piglins are actually quite smart compared to all the other mobs they obviously can mine obsidian and build fortresses, not to mention their combat is amazing compared to other mobs.
