Beta was way ahead of its time :) They should've gone for larger cassettes tho. The measly recording time is was ultimately killed it off

On a PAL machine (like this) the recording time was 130 minutes (L-500) 195 minutes (L-750) or 215 minutes (L-830). Those were the three most commonly used PAL tape types.
