I watched this over xmas 1987 on a little b&w TV and have very fond memories of it. Of course we bought the DVD when it came out but I have always wanted to see the original production again. Thanks so much for uploading it. And I agree with Susannah MacDonald about the dancing. As near to what Louis XIV must have seen as we can get.

This video is a rare jewel, the only still-existing of the original ATYS 1987 production. In 2011, this masterpiece opera was once again produced, with some differences with respect to this version, and recorded on DVD and Blu-Ray. It is very enriching to compare the two productions in order to analyse the evolutionary process. Thank you, Wiebe Moes :)
