hi.... all the materials can attenute the xray beam... however some heavy metals like Lead (which is ised in radiology sheilds) has more attenuation. it also depends on the tickness of the material, the more tick is the subject, the more it absorbs teh Xray beam

I did an x-ray of my chest. My eyes remained open during the x-ray. Is there damage to the eyes.... and should we close our eyes during the x-ray?

doesn't matter if you keep your eyes open or close. the eyelids won't protect the eyes from x ray penetration, however, if you did an x ray from the chest, the radiation to your eyes are minimal
