Re: Honey Locust... I think its one of the most Underrated Species around. Better than Oaks, but limited supplies (in Western NY) and there is 12 different species in the U.S.

A stain will not work In locust at all as far as my experience working with this species goes its always been to dense and non porous to saok up any stain period it just pools up on the surface

It is a shame to use this lumber for cooking it is one of the best exterior woods there is other than redwood
