Yay! He’s dancing and happy to be at work! I would be too with those skills! Can I ask why your not using a Track Harvester or a Feller Buncher? I always wonder that with these particular videos.... we rarely see plantations being fallen by hand in Western Australia (our pine is Radiata Pine)

Do you run a skip tooth chain on that husqvarna? I just started running one on mine for firewood production and I love how crazy fast it cuts on my 562xp x-torx

@@heavysnow8616 My Grandfather was Austrian by birth but grew up in the States here and he started me in the Timber like my Father at an early age...I was falling Pines before I honestly could ride a bike. One of thee most important lessons he ever taught me was simple " if you go to the timber every day with the attitude that every Tree you fall is making you money....you will always be a valued worker and it will serve you well when and if you ever decide to start up your own Logging Company." Little did I know then how right he was....amazing what all the years he spent in the Timber taught me... My favorite Safety Lesson he taught was also simple....it goes like this " If you look at every tree as its own puzzle you have to solve you will always be safe....when in doubt walk away....no tree is worth your life. Each one no matter how much they look alike are their own problem....no 2 are ever alike." His advice has saved my life more times than I can count. I will to this day still walk away from a tree if I can't safely solve it's puzzle....true I don't walk away from as many now because I have been carrying a saw to the woods for so many years but there is still things I can learn....I hope I am never so smart that I think I know it all.....that's the day I will get hurt or worse. We have a great crew of young guys that work for us....some are ex-wildland fire fighters and hot-shots and some never picked up a saw till the day they came to work for us but I wouldn't trade a one of them....we started our Son falling when he was 14 he's 21 now and one of our best Fallers I'm the timber boss and still run the show....tote my saw to the woods every single day and work right along side the young guys and there ain't a man among them when asked will say I can't keep up with them and in some cases out work them....but they all know that I won't ask them to do something I won't do myself.

Such a tiny bar lol. I run 28” bars on my big saws. Such a big saw and a dinky bar And never once looked up at the crown... it does no good to stare at your cut
@daw1624 жыл бұрын
looks to me like he's got plenty of room to work and doesn't have to be that particular about watching the crown and adjusting the fall. Figure a guy who handles a saw as well as he does can make his own decisions.
@ericsalyer28694 жыл бұрын
@@daw162 your clearly unskilled at this. Soon as the saw is in the wood. Look up I get my tips from people who been felling trees for 20plus years Guess what.. the 3rd tree I stared at my saw while I cut. Never once looked up...well that tree put me in the hospital for 2 months Since then I’ve never looked at my saw once the bar is in the wood on the back cut And I don’t bore cut anything either
@charlestaylor85663 жыл бұрын
@@ericsalyer2869 well he seems to know what he’s doing ! If you mean looking up for dead or loose branches , fair enough if cutting hard woods when their is a real danger off loose limbs but conifers are usually safe enough , besides we’re not seeing the whole filming , he maybe did look up . I did this for living years ago and we felled them crossing each other , but can’t understand why they aren’t using a harvester .
