Clearly a long way to go. Not sure why they have released this in such an early stage. I can't ever see myself using this tool......it immediately makes your image a fake - I have it as part of the creative pass, but not tried it yet. I have tried the generase and that works very well most of the time....but so does the very good erase tool

Have. you done the same tests with Photoshop's Generative AI?

Yes. One of the things I like about Photoshop's Gen AI (though it also has problems) actually has to do with masking in Photoshop. It's very easy to select a subject in Photoshop, invert it, and use Gen AI to create a new background.

Sadly, the tools are pretty rough. I think they will improve, but the current collection has some "interesting" results.
