@@zygzakjumper The trash was the same and there was generally less production value (as in how much effort producers are putting in) due to the standards back in the day being lower (and there was more hardtrance influence), but the better tracks were more differentiated and original than today's scene. There was a bit more experimentation. Nowadays the biggest difference between Rawstyle and Hardcore is how the kicks/basses are made, and even that's rather close. The hallmark of Hardstyle - the Reverse Bass - also kind of vanished. And almost any track produced now isn't in the old 'track format', but the new build-up&drop technique, which is something I kind of miss. Although that's got more to do with fashion than anything else...

Idiots! Whomever says that statement literally has no braincells. It is called a genre for a reason? Is it not? Regardless, the true fans of a genre rather than those that just nit pick at songs they like from the radio could not possibly understand the small subtle differences between each producer. Let alone could they possibly admit that it's good music.

I've noticed its mostly because a lot of people care much more about lyrics, and since the basis of hardstyle is the kicks and screeches many people can hear the differences but don't care about them. Just because they look for lyrics in songs, not some bombass kicks
